II Timothy 1:3-7

Mentoring relationships have a tremendous

Throughout his life, had a mentoring relationship with Timothy

As he was nearing the of his life, Paul wrote Timothy again

1 Paul wrote to Timothy

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

2 Timothy 1:6 (NIV)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

2 Paul also wrote to Timothy

-Remember

 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, 2 Timothy 2:8 (NIV)

difficult times

 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 Timothy 3:1 (NIV)

-Expect

 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 2 Timothy 3:12 (NIV)

in what you believe

14  But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15  and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:14-15 (NIV)

3 Paul hoped to see his son in the faith

 Do your best to come to me quickly, 2 Timothy 4:9 (NIV)
