Acts 15:36-16:5

Big Move: Navigate with a focus on

1. Recognize how relational can be used to mission.

Healthy Separation:

  1. Move slowly.
  2. Communicate clearly.
  3. Ask critical questions.
  4. Process slowly.
  5. Express love for one another.
  6. Transition with honor for one another.
  7. Pray for mission multiplication.

2. Avoid issues that shut the door on conversations.

Darrell Bock, “In sum, what is seen here is Paul’s cultural sensitivity. Instead of making Timothy a sideshow to the gospel in terms of whether he was a Jew or not, Paul permitted circumcision so that the gospel would remain the main topic. Knowing which principles are worth standing up for & which ideas are not worth elevating to an importance they do not deserve is a sign of discernment & leadership. Not every issue is worth starting a war over when it comes to the gospel & the ethnic unity of the church.”

1 Corinthians 9:12

1 Corinthians 9:19-23
