Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

2 Cor. 5:17 NLT

Romans 12:1-2 NLT

“There is no growth without change, no change without loss, and no loss without pain. You’ll only grow to the threshold of your pain.” – Samuel R. Chand, Leadership Pain

2 Cor. 1:3-4 NLT

3 Phases of Transition:

Phase 1: Ending, Losing, Letting Go

In this phase we acknowledge that something is ending. More important than the external change or ending is our ability to let go of something that doesn’t fit so it can make room for new birth.

Phase 2: Neutral Zone

In this phase we are repatterning our brain to work differently. This could be a season of emptiness, meaninglessness, or doubt. We wait on the Lord, experiencing the Saturday between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. God’s silence is not absence; we must remember God is with us here. The Neutral Zone is our best chance to be creative, renew, and develop into what we need to become!

Phase 3: New Beginning

In this phase we develop new identities, discover new energy, and find new purpose! What new beginnings might God want to birth in us?

‘The first service one owes to others in the fellowship consists in listening to them… It is God’s love to us that He not only gives us His Word but also lends us His ear… Christians so often think they must always contribute something when they are in the company of others, that this is the one service they have to render. They forget that listening can be a greater service than speaking.’ – Dietrich Bonhoeffer
