(Hebrews 12:1 NIV) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Things to know about God writing your story…
- God for you to be in His story. (Joshua 2:1; John 15:16)
- God alwaysfor us to be in His story. (Joshua 2:17-21; Romans 8:28 NIV)
- God’s story always has a ending. (Matthew 1:3, 5-6)
How to let God write your story…

Think about it…
- Through our “Running with the Giants” series, we are learning key truths from some of the greatest heroes of the faith found in the Bible. This week, we talked about Rahab, a prostitute from Jericho who ultimately became the great grandmother of Jesus Christ. Because she was willing to say “yes” when an opportunity came for her to help the people of God, Rahab’s legacy did not end in prostitution. God took control of her life story, saved her entire family from the destruction of Jericho, and made her a part of the bloodline of the Savior of the world. If Rahab were here today, she would encourage those of us who are currently disappointed with our lives by saying, “Let God write your story.”
Talk about it…
- Talk about the moment you said “yes” to God’s invitation to be a part of His story. What would your story have been if you had said “no”? How is your life different today?
- Explain this statement: “There is no place you can go where the love of God does not reach.” How has this impacted your life? What helped you be able to receive God’s love?
- Explain how God can use redemption to impact the lives of others. Tell the group about how he has used your story to affect others.
Pray about it…
- Praise God for wanting to redeem your life story, and thank Him for paying the price for the darkness of your past. Ask Him to help you receive His forgiveness and love. Pray for opportunities to share your redeemed story with others.
Act on it…
- Reading Plan: Every story matters! Like Rahab, your story could change the lives of others. Let’s learn how to more effectively share our “God Story” in this 5 day reading plan.
- If you recognize that God has invited you to be a part of His story but you haven’t yet joined Him, say yes! Accept His love for you. Look for opportunities to share what He has done in your life with others who are struggling. Praise and thank Him for the new story He is writing for you.
