Hope defined biblically is “An attitude of confidently looking forward to what is good and beneficial.”
Rekindled Faith = Hope:
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
H – :
Are you surrounded by negativity and hope zapping images and ideas? Find a truthful-positive outlook.
What truth produces a positive outlook? The word of God (Heb. 4:12)
O – :
A journal of life events and prayers can act as a powerful reminder of just how God stepped in to save you from a horrible situation. (Gen. 35:2-3; 6-7)
The witness of powerful testimonies can have a dramatic impact on our level of hope.
P – :
We need most crucially to persevere or endure the trials and storms life brings us.
(Rm. 5:3-5). Friends and Family are the key here so surround yourself with them. (2 Tim. 4:9, 11)
- They will point you to scripture. (Jas 1:12; 2 Cor. 1:21; Heb. 6:11; Lk. 21:19; Col. 1:11)
- They will pray with you.
- They will help you reframe your difficulties and find hope in overcoming them.
E – :
As Christians we are to wait expectantly for Christ’s return like a pregnant mother waits for her newborn baby to come.
Dr. Jeffrey Schwartz (UCLA) – People change when they actually expect to change.
We must expect that things will change, really expect it, that God will show up in a tangible way.
