Proverbs 31:10–29 (NLT)

Ladies, when you read this passage, do you just see row after row of hurdles that you know you’re never going to get over? You struggle and work hard at being the best wife and mom you can be, but you feel as if you will never measure up.

PRINCIPLE ONE

When we realize we can’t measure up, we carry the .

This morning, Jesus has a word of encouragement for everyone who feels the weight of worry, and for anyone who believes they will never measure up…

Matthew 6:25–30 (NLT)

Look what he says right before the “do not worry” passage…

Matthew 6:24 (NLT)

We must make a choice about what is going to be the most important goal in life.

And at the end of the “do not worry” passage, Jesus says this…

Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

The call on our lives — the call for moms— is to make the right choice about what motivates you. When you do, there’s no need to worry anymore.

Putting God first is the .

We may not be able to prevent anxious thoughts from entering our minds, but we can practice the right

response.

Philippians 4:6–7 (ESV)

PRINCIPLE TWO

Are you with the perfect Proverbs 31 woman?

God hears the cry of your heart. He knows your burdens and your needs.

Not only does God know your needs, but he delivers with a promise to help you in Matthew 11…

Matthew 11:28–30 (NLT)

There is this that so many of you have around your neck right now.

Here’s what I believe Jesus is saying today to mothers…

The yoke of motherhood is when Jesus is by your side.

Have faith. Trust in Him. Yes, you still have big responsibilities and tasks to accomplish. But don’t do it alone.

APPLICATION

As a wife and a mom, you’re asked to do many things. And when you carry that burden all by yourself, you’re naturally going to have anxiety and feel the weight of worry. But God’s Word, in 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV), says to “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

God cares for you and He will help shoulder your calling if you will trust Him.
