Open Door (v.8)

…for a wide door for effective service has opened to me,  – 1 Corinthians 16:9 (NASB)

Now when I came to Troas for the gospel of Christ and when a door was opened for me in the Lord,

Open Door speaks of

Go into all the world and preach the gospel – Mark 16:15 (NASB)

Have kept (tereo) my word (v.8)

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Hupomonee: a steadfast, waiting for (Thayer’s)

Try: peirazo – to test, scrutinize (KJV)

assay, examine, go about, prove, tempt (-er), try (Strong’s)

Notice: It’s a trial (to )

of those who “Dwell on the Earth”

(v.10) …dwell on the earth

Dwell: katoikeo – to house permanently (Strong’s)

I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell (katoikeo) on the earth?”  – Revelation 6:9-10 (NASB)

And all who dwell (katoikeo) on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. If anyone has an ear, let him hear  – Revelation 13:8-9 (NASB)
