THINGS JESUS NEVER SAID—3

YOU WON’T HAVE BAD DAYS

“Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. …” John 16:20 NIV

“Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. 21A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.” John 16:20-21 NIV

“So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” John 16:22 NIV

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world …” John 16:33 NIV

“… In this world you will have trouble …” John 16:33 NIV

TROUBLE, TRIALS, AND HARDSHIPS

  • PROVE YOUR FAITH.

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7These trials will show that your faith is genuine. … 1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT

    • A faith that has been tested is a faith that can be trusted.
  • PREPARE YOU FOR PURPOSE

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 NIV

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:4-5 NIV

“… In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV
