December 27, 2020   /   Bonita Valley Community Church

[1] Preparing for a “Great New Year” begins with from the old one!

Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)
No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

  •  “Forgetting the past” means – releasing our 2020 !

1 John 1:9 (NIV)

If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Jeremiah 31:34 (MSG)
I’ll wipe the slate cleanI’ll forget they ever sinned!

Isaiah 43:25 (NLT)

(God says) “I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.”

James 5:16 (MSG)

Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed.

  • “Forgetting the past” also means – getting over our 2020 !

[2] We prepare for a “Great New Year” by prioritizing !

Philippians 3:12 (NLT)

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be.

  • Make one of your New Year’s goals to — make daily !

  • Make one of your New Year’s goals” to — raise the bar!

Colossians 3:23 (NCV)

In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people.
