July 18, 2021   /   Bonita Valley Community Church

Joshua 14:10-11 (TLB)
I am eighty-five years old. 11 I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent us on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then!

#1 – To live an “unstoppable life”, like Caleb, we need to be – Godly !

Numbers 13:27-30 (MSG)

(The Promised Land spies) told the story of their trip: “We went to the land to which you sent us and, oh! It does flow with milk and honey! Just look at this fruit! 28 The only thing is that the people who live there are fierce, their cities are huge and well fortified. Worse yet, we saw descendants of the giant Anak. 29 Amalekites are spread out in the Negev; Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites hold the hill country; and the Canaanites are established on the Mediterranean Sea and along the Jordan.”

30 Caleb interrupted, called for silence before Moses and said, “Let’s go up and take the land—now. We can do it.”

Caleb didn’t allow being an outsider to stop him!

Joshua 14:6 (NIV)

Now the men of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephhunneh the Kenizzite said to him . . .

Colossians 3:11 (MSG)
Words like Jewish and non-Jewish, religious and irreligious, insider and outsider, slave and free, mean nothing. From now on everyone is … included in Christ.

Caleb didn’t allow limiting labels to stop him!

Ephesians 2:19 (GW)
(God says) — You are no longer foreigners and outsiders but … members of God’s very own family.

Caleb didn’t allow the negativism of others to stop him!

Joshua 14:7-8 (NIV)

(Caleb says) — I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions, 8 but my brothers who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear. I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.

Caleb didn’t allow delays to stop him!

Joshua 14:10 (NIV)

Moses swore to me, “The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.”

10 … (The Lord) has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the desert.

Caleb didn’t allow giant-sized problems to stop him!

  • The “unstoppable” never let go of God’s !

Joshua 14:12 (NIV)

Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day.

Hebrews 6:18 (MSG)

God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable … grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go.

  • The “unstoppable” always trust God to !

Joshua 14:12 (NIV)

Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.”

#2 – To live an “unstoppable life”, like Caleb, we need to be – Godly !

Joshua 15:16-17 (NLT)
Caleb said, “I will give my daughter Acsah in marriage to the one who attacks and captures Kiriath-sepher.” 17 Othniel … conquered it, so Acsah became Othniel’s wife.
