TODAY’S SERMON
SERMON SERIES: ONE ANOTHER
TITLE: Accept One Another
TEXT:
Romans 15:1-9
SPEAKER: Pastor Dan Turner

Our series from the New Testament about how to treat those around us continues as we explore what Paul meant when he said to “accept one another.” He spoke those words in the midst of a very divisive culture in the churches. The issues are different, but we see similar levels of divisiveness in the 21st century. Paul presents a plan for us to follow based on the principles that Christ taught so that we could live in peace with those whom we might disagree. We hope you will join us for this very practical and timely subject.

SERMON NOTES

WHEN DO WE ACCEPT EACH OTHER?
1. When the disagreement involves disputable matters. Romans 14:1
2. One of the signs of Christian strength is the ability to hold things in tension with people who believe and practice things differently than we do. Romans 15:1

HOW DO WE ACCEPT EACH OTHER?
1. Refuse the temptation to judge. Romans 14:13

2. Avoid showing contempt or devaluing them. Romans 14:19

3. Avoid the temptation to quarrel and instead bear with them. Romans 14:1

WHY DO WE ACCEPT EACH OTHER?
1. Because not accepting another could damage their faith and/or our relationship. 14:20-21

2. Because we want to respond as Christ did. Romans 15:5
