MY NOTES:
SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS:
DISCUSSION
- Read Ephesians 2:11-12. Put yourself in the shoes of a first-century
Middle-Eastern Gentile. You seek God, but realize it’s the Jews, not you, who are God’s chosen people. How would you feel? - Continuing as the first-century Gentile, read verses 13-18 as if for the first time. What would you now think?
- If Christ had not come, would those of us who are Gentiles be any
different from the first-century Gentile? - Read verses 19-22. Paul now takes this a step further: through Christ, God actually dwells in us! How have you experienced the work of the Holy Spirit in your life?
- A. As a Christian, do you ever feel disconnected from the visible world around you?
B. What are some outward ways that believers should be different from the unsaved world around us? See Ephesians 5:1-2, 5-11. - Underlying everything, what do you think is the foundation of your faith and belief system? What would those outside the church who have observed you say is your foundation?
APPLICATION
You are a citizen of heaven! Just imagine, you are a foreigner living on American soil. Do you find the culture strange to you or familiar and
comfortable? What action can you take this week to connect better with Christ’s invisible kingdom?
PRAYER
Meditate on the wonder of God bringing you into His family. Express your gratefulness for what He has done for you. Ask the Lord for opportunities to express your gratitude in service to Him this week.
