SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

DISCUSSION

2. Notice that Peter and John were together, as were other pairs who Jesus sent out in Luke 10:1.

B. Can you identify someone you can team with to minister to another?

3. What’s the best way to help someone who is begging at Walmart, Winco, or wherever?

4. Take a look at verses 6-10.
A. Discuss the variety of physical and spiritual resources that God has given each of you.
B. What would happen if the resources were pooled and perhaps distributed?

5. A. Why do you think Peter responded to this man, and why did the Lord choose him to be healed?

C. What constitutes a miracle?

6. A. In Acts 3:7-9, what was the result of the Lord’s miraculous healing grace in this public setting?
B. Does a “divine encounter” include only visible miracles? Why or why not?

APPLICATION

During your small group time, brainstorm and select a single parent household or a struggling family to bless over the Christmas season. They could be a friend or con- nected with your neighborhood, work, or kid’s sports team or school. Or your group may have other ideas. Pull together to buy some gifts that would help this family and find a creative way to deliver them, anonymously if possible. Include a note letting them know that the greatest gift they could ever receive is Jesus and invite them to Bethel‘s Christmas Eve service.
