Part 4 – I Long To Be Like Christ

Matthew 5:6

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

    for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6

The Bible speaks of righteousness in two ways:

First, there is the righteousness that Christ you.

30 …you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30

9 …not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. Philippians 3:9

Second, there is the righteousness that Christ you to.

24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; 1 Peter 2:24a

A Few Observations About Hunger

How can we develop an appetite for righteousness?

Five Strategies for Cultivating an Appetite for Righteousness

1) from the first three beatitudes.

4) Use your blessing and trouble as to be nourished by Christ.
