The Lamb

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 (NIV)

“And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”  Luke 22:15-20 NIV)

The Lamb had to be  .

“The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.” Exodus 12:5 (NIV)

“(You were redeemed) …with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” 1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV) 

The Lamb had to be

“Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.” Exodus 12:6 (NIV)

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)

The Lamb had to be   .
