Five Steps Toward Healing and Freedom:

  1. Realize Relationships Shape Your Self-Worth.

“Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.” Proverbs 13:20 (MSG)

  1. Reveal the Hurts Holding You Back.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

  1. Resolve to Step Toward Healing.

“Right now, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us…” Galatians 6:9b (MSG)

  1. Refuse to Avoid the Hard Conversations.

“It’s better to be corrected openly, if it stems from hidden love. You can trust a friend who wounds you – with his honesty.” Proverbs 27-5-6a (TPT)

  1. Release Others Through Forgiveness.

“At last we have freedom, for Christ has set us free! We must always cherish this truth and firmly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.” Galatians 5:1 (TPT)

Special Note: Three plants mentioned in Isabela’s song “What Else Can I Do?” are native to Colombia, where Encanto takes place:

  • Jacarandas: Trees with vibrant purple flowers.
  • Tabebuia: Plants with bright yellow or pink blossoms.
  • Palma de cera: The wax palm tree, Colombia’s national tree, symbolizing strength and resilience as it grows tall and thrives in challenging environments.

Each new plant symbolizes Isabela’s newfound freedom.
