“Use your body to bring glory to God!” 1 Corinthians 6:20 (TPT)

Three ways we our bodies: 

1. When I ask the WRONG QUESTIONS .  

“Everything is permissible for me but not everything is beneficial . Everything is permissible for me but I will not be mastered by anything.” 1 Corinthians 6:12 

• The wrong value question is … Is it permissible? Is it legal? 
• The right value question is… What is beneficial? 

            What is mastering me? 

2. When I the Creator.  

“Food for the stomach and the stomach for food. God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord and the Lord for the body. “   1 Corinthians 6:13  

“The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”      Genesis 2:7 

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well .”    Psalm 139:13-14  

3. When I my future.  

“By His power God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, and He will raise us also .”  1 Corinthians 6:14 

Three Reasons God says our physical body is valuable:

1. Because my body is a of Christ.  

“Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ ?… 1 Corinthians 6:15 

2. Because my body is a for God’s Spirit.  

“Or didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place , the place of the Holy Spirit?”     1 Corinthians 6:19 ( Mes)  

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?”  1 Corinthians 6:19 (NIV)   

3. Because my body is not .  

“…You are not your own; you were bought at a price . Therefore honor God with your body.”  1 Corinthians 6:19-20   

“You know that in the past you were living in a worthless way, a way passed down from the people who lived before you. But you were saved from that useless life. You were bought , not with something that ruins like gold or silver, but with the precious blood of Christ , who was like a pure and perfect lamb.”     1 Peter 1:18-19 (NCV)
