How Should I Live In This World //Your Truth Matters [Part 4 Of 4]

August 27, 2023

“Anyone who says he’s a Christian should live as Christ did.”  1 John 2:6 (TLB)

I live like Jesus when I learn to

  1. Live with Discernment.

“Don’t become so comfortable with your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.” Romans 12:2 (MSG)

“Don’t be nitpickers, but use your head and heart to discern what is right to test what is authentically truth.”  John 7:24 (MSG)

“Make sure that the light you think you have is not really darkness.”  Luke 11:35 (NLT)

  1. Live with Integrity.

“If you are filled with light, with no dark parts, then your whole life will be radiant…” Luke 11:36 (NLT)

“Even though you live in the midst of a brutal and perverse culture, you will appear among them as shining lights in the universe.” Philippians 2:15-16 (TPT)

“You are the world’s seasoning to make it tolerable.  If you lose your flavor, what will happen to the world?”  Matt.  5:13 (TLB)

  1. Live with Humility.

“God blesses those who realize their need for Him…” Matt. 5:3 (NLT)

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle, and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”  Matt.  11:28- 29 (NIV)

  1. Live with Possibility.

“With God everything is possible.”  Matt.  19:26 (NLT)

“…Everything is possible for him who believes.”  Mark 9:23 (NIV)

  1. Live with Hospitality.

“Let us not give up the habit of meeting. Instead let us encourage one another.” Hebrews 10:25

“When you gather each one of you be prepared with something useful for all. Sing a hymn, teach a lesson, tell a story, lead a prayer, provide an insight. Take your turn with no one person taking over. That way you all learn from each other.” 1 Cor. 14:26 (MSG)

“As each part does its work, it helps the other parts grow. So Christ’s whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Ephesians 4:16

  1. Live with Priority.

“Only people who don’t know God are always worrying…Your Father knows what you need.  But put God’s work first, and these other things will be yours as well.”  Luke 12:30-31 (CEV)

“If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself.  But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.”  Matt.  10:39 (MSG)
