PUT GOD FIRST

“In everything you do, put God first and He will direct you and crown your efforts with His success.” Proverbs 3:6 (LB)

HOW CAN I PUT GOD FIRST?

1) Put God First With My .

“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Luke 16:13 (NKJV)

MAMMON’S PROMISES:

• Security. 

“Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.” Proverbs 11:28

• Identity. 

“Beware! Don’t be greedy for what you don’t have. Real life is not measured by how much we own.” Luke 12:15 (NLT)

• Happiness.

“Those who love money will never have enough. How absurd to think that wealth brings true happiness!” Ecclesiastes 5:10 (NLT)

2) Put God First With My .

“A mirror reflects a man’s face but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses.”  Proverbs 27:19 (GN)  

“A righteous man is cautious in friendships…” Proverbs 12:26   

SELECT FRIENDS WHO WILL:  

• Stimulate me mentally.  

“He who walks with the wise grows wise.” Proverbs 13:20  

• Support me emotionally.  

“A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17 

• Strengthen me spiritually.   

“I choose as my friends everyone who worships you and follows your teachings.” Psalm 119:63 (C.E.V.)       

3) Put God First In My Life’s .

“It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others.” Ephesians 2:10 (LB)

“Keep a close watch on all you do and think. Stay true to what is right and God will bless you and use you to help others.” 1 Timothy 4:16 (LB)

“Be very careful how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity…”  Ephesians 5:15-16

“Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus…” Acts 20:24 (LB)
