CONDITIONS OF ANSWERED PRAYER // Prayer Will Change Your Life [Part 1 of 5]
January 1, 2023David: “I’m singing at the top of my lungs, I’m so full of answered prayers.” Psalm 13:6 (Message)
FOR YOUR PRAYERS TO BE ANSWERED YOU MUST HAVE:
- An relationship with God.
Jesus: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.” John 15:7
“God has no use for the prayers of the people who won’t listen to him.” Proverbs 28:9 (Message)
Three questions to indicate my honesty to God:
- Have I not admitted things that done wrong?
“He would not have listened if I had not confessed my sins.” Psalm 66:18 (Living Bible)
“It is because of your sins that he doesn’t hear you. It is your sins that separate you from God when you try to worship him.” Isaiah 59:2 (Good News)
“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:8-9
- Am I presently any of God’s principles?
“Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.” 1 John 3:21-24
- Am I living in with God’s will for my life?
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” 1 John 5:14-15
- A attitude toward others.
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:24-25
“Watch out that no bitterness takes root among you, for as it springs up it causes deep trouble, hurting many in their spiritual lives.” Hebrews 12:15 (LB)
- Be willing to the results.
“If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.” Proverbs 21:13
“You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” James 4:3
- God will answer.
“But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” James 1:6-8
“According to your faith it will be done unto you.” Matthew 9:29
“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11:6
- Pray in Jesus’ .
“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” John 14:13-14
“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John 16:24
