Think Right…

 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2 (NIV)

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich is good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NIV)

Rich People…

Don’t like to admit they are .

“You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.”  2 Corinthians 8:9 (NLT)

Are plagued by .

“Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth-except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers! People who work hard sleep well, whether they eat little or much. But the rich seldom get a good night’s sleep.”  Ecclesiastes 5:10-12 (NLT)

Live with a False sense of .

“The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale.” Proverbs 18:11

Do Right…

1. I will be Grateful.

“David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, ‘Praise be to you, LORD…Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all…” 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

Gratitude makes me generous.

2. I will lead with generosity.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” 

Matthew 6:21 (NIV)

“You’ll not likely go wrong here if you keep remembering that our Master said, ‘You’re far happier giving than getting.” 

Acts 20:35 (MSG)

Generosity leads, heart follows.

3. I will put my hope in God.

“Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.” Proverbs 30:7-9

I will not trust in riches but in Him who richly provides.
