“You made my body, Lord. Now give me sense to heed your laws.”  Psalm 119:73 (LB)

“It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night. God wants his loved ones to get their proper rest.” Psalm 127:2 (LB)

BUILD my life around Christ.

“God will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the kingdom of God your primary concern.” Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart…This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is…Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39

ACCEPT my humanity.

“Only someone too stupid to find his way home would wear himself out with work!” Ecclesiastes 10:15

“We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that this immeasurable power will be seen as God’s, not ours.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 (TPT)

LIMIT my labor.

“Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. You have six days in which to do your work, but the seventh day is to be a day of rest dedicated to Me.” Exodus 20:9-10 (GN)

“The Sabbath was made for the sake of people, and not people for the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27 (TPT)

“Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard… to a Sabbath day.” Colossians 2:16

ADJUST my values.

“I’ve learned why people work so hard to succeed; it’s because they envy the things their neighbors have.” Ecclesiastes 4:4 (GN)

“What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?” Mark 8:36

“It is better to have only a little, with peace of mind, than to be busy all the time…” Ecclesiastes 4:6 (GN)

NURTURE my inner life.

“…I had no time for myself.”  Song of Solomon 1:6

“Jesus often slipped away to be alone so he could pray.” Luke 5:15-16

COMMIT my schedule to God.

“…My times are in Your hands.” Psalm 31:15

“There is a time and a season for everything under Heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

ENJOY each moment.

“All of us should enjoy what we have worked for. It is God’s gift.” Ecclesiastes 3:13 (GN)

“A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life.” Proverbs 14:30 (LB)

“God will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the kingdom of God your primary concern.” Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

“We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.” 2 Corinthians 1:8

“Come to me and I will give you rest—all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear my yoke—for it fits perfectly—and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I give you only light burdens.” Matthew 11:28 (LB)
