Becoming Relationally Alive // Fully Alive [Part 3]
March 13, 2022“…she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked;” Genesis 3:6-19
How our fears Ruin Relationships
- My fear of exposure makes me distant.
- My fear of disapproval makes me defensive.
- My fear of losing control makes me demanding.
The antidote: Love.
How do I learn to live in God’s Love?
1. Every day surrender my heart for God
“Surrender your heart to God, turn to him in prayer, and give up your sins— even those you do in secret. Then you won’t be ashamed; you will be confident and fearless. Your troubles will go away like water beneath a bridge, and your darkest night will be brighter than noon. You will rest safe and secure, filled with hope and emptied of worry. You will sleep without fear and be greatly respected.” Job 11:13-20 (CEV)
2. Every day I remember.
Four things God says about you
• I’m completely accepted.
“Jesus made us acceptable to God.” Titus 3:7 (CEV)
• I’m unconditionally loved.
“My love for you will never end says the Lord.” Isaiah 54:10 (GNT)
• I’m totally forgiven.
“There is NO condemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1 (TPT)
• I’m extremely valuable.
“God bought you with a high price.” 1 Corinthians 6:20 (NLT)
“You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood.” 1 Corinthians 6:20 (TPT)
3. Everyday offer love.
“I am giving you a new commandment to love each other. Love each other in the same way that I have loved you.” John 13:34
