A Tale of Two Kings

Approaching a Holy, All-Powerful God!

1 Samuel 5-6

4 ways to Approach God

1.I can try to God

When the soldiers returned to camp, the elders of Israel asked, “Why did the Lord bring defeat on us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Shiloh, so that he may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies.” 1 Samuel 4:3-4

2. I can Completely God

When the ark of the Lord had been in Philistine territory seven months, the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners and said, “What shall we do with the ark of the Lord? Tell us how we should send it back to its place.” 6:1-2

3. I can get too with God

Now the people of Beth Shemesh were harvesting their wheat in the valley, and when they looked up and saw the ark, they rejoiced at the sight. But God struck down some of the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh, putting seventy of them to death because they looked into the ark of the Lord. 6:13-19

4. I can to Him as Lord

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker Ps. 95:6

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the

Father. Philippians 2:10-11
