PERSPECTIVE PRAYING

PERSPECTIVE PRAYING

Pastor Steve Anderson. |  09.15.2026

Perspective Prayer Is:

1) Provides A .

1 John 3:1

1 See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are/“and so we are” (emphatic).

1 Corinthians 2:1-10

1 When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan.

2 For I decided that while I was with you I would forget (about) everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.

3 I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling.

4 And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit.

5 I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.

6 Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten.

7 No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.

8 But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.

9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

10 But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.

How does that look?

us that our struggles and trials won’t last forever….that victory is ours through Jesus.

us to hold lightly to the things of this world, which will pass away or be lost to us…and pray about the things that matter for eternity.

Matthew 6:33

33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.- Gives us a “limited time” perspective on how and what to pray and seek while giving us a wonderful hope that is ours for the future.

Philippians 1:6

6And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

2. Lifts Our

Psalm 46:1-2, 10-11

1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

2 So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.

10 “Be still, and know that I am God!  I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

11  The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.

Control

Actively

Christ’s Victory for Us

Romans 8:35-37

35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”

37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

: Do the mental discipline of clearing your mind of your problems and BE with God….Choose faith.

3) Recognizing Scale

Exodus 14:13

13 “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”

We can pray from the of Trust and Comfort That It’s All In God’s Hands:

Isaiah 46:9-10

9  Remember the things I have done in the past.  For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me.

10 Only I can tell you the future  before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.

We can Pray to strength to endure

1 Peter 4:7

7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.

Matthew 24:12-13

12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.

13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
