Hebrews 1:2 (NIV)
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE RESPOND TO GOD WITH DELAY?
1. Delay makes disobedience feel .

2 “These people say, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord’s house.’ ”

4“Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?”
Haggai 1:8 (NIV)
8Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord.
2. Delay gives competing more room.
3. Delay can harden what God is trying to .
Hebrews 3:13 (NIV)
13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

60I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.
Matthew 4:18–22 (ESV)
18While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

20Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
21And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them.
22Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
THE VALUE OF RESPONDING IMMEDIATELY TO GOD…
1. REFUSES TO LET BECOME DELAYS.
Matthew 4:19 (ESV)
19And he said to them, “Follow me…”

Hebrews 12:1 (ESV)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Mark 10:21 (ESV)
21And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Mark 10:22 (ESV)
22Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
3. GIVES JESUS THE SAY.

22Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
