GREATER STILL (2) – THAN ALL MY BATTLES
January 18, 2026GREATER STILL (2) – THAN ALL MY BATTLES
Pastor Blake Hanson | 1.25.26
Isaiah 54:16–17 (NLT)
16“I have created the blacksmith who fans the coals beneath the forge and makes the weapons of destruction. And I have created the armies that destroy.
17But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!
GREATER STILL… THAN ALL MY
Romans 8:37 (NLT)
37No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
Psalm 27:1 (NLT)
1The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
1. CHOOSE TRUST OVER PANIC WHEN THE APPEARS.
Isaiah 54:16 (NLT)
16“I have created the blacksmith who fans the coals beneath the forge and makes the weapons of destruction. And I have created the armies that destroy.
2 Corinthians 10:3–4 (NLT)
3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do.
4We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.
What weapon(s) are appearing in your life?
Declare this promise:
Psalm 34:15 (NLT)
15The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.
2. CHOOSE GOD’S DEFENSE OVER SELF-PROTECTION WHEN RISE.
Isaiah 54:17 (NLT)
17But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.
Places of Accusations:
- Externally
- Internally
Romans 8:33–34 (NLT)
33Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.
34Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
What do I need to stop responding to?
Declare this promise:
Proverbs 18:10 (NLT)
10The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.
3. CHOOSE CONFIDENT OBEDIENCE OVER FEAR WHEN THE CONTINUES.
Isaiah 54:17 (NLT)
17But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!
Verse 17 – in other translations says “heritage of the lord’s servants.”
What is an area of life you haven’t been living in obedience?
Declare this promise:
1 John 5:3 (NLT)
3Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.
