Being In A Relationship With Jesus Isn’t The Most Important Thing In Life
October 29, 2025Being In A Relationship With Jesus Isn’t The Most Important Thing In Life
Pastor Tim McDaniel. | 10.29.25
A friend is someone to whom you give your life.
A friend makes an equal investment.
John 15:13 (NLT)
13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
A friend values their friend more than their relationship.
1st Corinthians 8:6 (NLT)
6 There is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live.
How much do I value Jesus?
Philippians 3:5-7 (NLT)
5 I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin—a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law.
6 I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church. And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault.
7 I once thought these things were valuable…
Philippians 3:7-9 (NLT)
7 …but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.
8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ
9 and become one with him.
Acts 9:1-6 (NLT)
1 Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest.
2 He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them—both men and women—back to Jerusalem in chains.
3 As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him.
4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me
5 “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!
2 Peter 1:3 (NLT)
3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
Are you fulfilling your calling or using your calling?
Matthew 26:48-50 (NLT)
48 The traitor, Judas, had given them a prearranged signal: “You will know which one to arrest when I greet him with a kiss.”
49 So Judas came straight to Jesus. “Greetings, Rabbi!” he exclaimed and gave him the kiss.
50 Jesus said, “My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for.” Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him.
Psalm 73:25 (NLT) Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.
