Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion

Limiting government interference with abortion. – Except as provided in Article X, Section 22, no law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider. 

What is abortion? 

Abortion is the deliberate termination of human pregnancy resulting in the death of a baby. 

What does the Bible say about abortion? 

1. God creates and every human life. 

Genesis 4:1 (NLT)

1 Now Adam had sexual relations with his wife, Eve, and she became pregnant. When she gave birth to Cain, she said, “With the Lord’s help, I have produced a man!”

Genesis 21:1–2 (NLT)

2. God judges a nation that their land with murder. 

Psalm 106:38 (NLT)

38 They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters. By sacrificing them to the idols of Canaan, they polluted the land with murder.

Numbers 35:33 (NLT)

33 This will ensure that the land where you live will not be polluted, for murder pollutes the land. And no sacrifice except the execution of the murderer can purify the land from murder.

What should our response be as believers?

4 Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.

12 Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve.
