The difference between the two primarily is in your . Jesus is saying here that we judge one another in the sense of issuing condemnation over their lives. Whatever measure you hold others too, you will be held to that measure by God. What measures do you hold yourself to that are than you hold others to? The church is to be made up of people waging war on their sin. Our sin if not dealt with us to not only our own sin but distorts the sin of others. The key issue here is judging other’s sin than you judge your own sin. Before we can ever function as we are called to do in helping people deal with their sin, we must deal with our own sin and see it for what it truly is so that we fully appreciate the gospel. Jesus and His Kingdom offer real honest relationships where people for the other person enough to help them grow in sanctification. What Jesus is getting at here is giving something to someone that they are or does not know what to do with it. As we share the gospel we need to be mindful of where people are and be with them and trust God with their salvation. We must the gospel and God’s Kingdom above everything else.
