“In The Day of My Trouble” – Psalm 77:1-20
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
If we conclude that people of faith never have discouraging times, we are not reading the Bible.
Job 7:6-7 My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, And are spent without hope. O remember that my life is wind: Mine eye shall no more see good.
Deuteronomy 1:12 How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?

Psalm 77:1-3 I cried unto God with my voice, Even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: My sore ran in the night, and ceased not: My soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Psalm 77:7-9 Will the Lord cast off for ever? And will he be favourable no more? Is his mercy clean gone for ever? Doth his promise fail for evermore? Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

Psalm 77:4-5 Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak. I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times.
Psalm 77:6 I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: And my spirit made diligent search.
Psalm 77:10-12 And I said, This is my infirmity: But I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. I will remember the works of the Lord: Surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
We can all dismiss or discount the good work of God in our lives, but taking time to look back and recall God’s faithfulness is important.
Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: For I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
III. See God as Than Anything
Psalm 77:13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
Psalm 77:14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
Psalm 77:16-18 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: The depths also were troubled. The clouds poured out water: The skies sent out a sound: Thine arrows also went abroad. The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: The lightnings lightened the world: The earth trembled and shook.
When you view your problems through the truth of God, your entire outlook will change.
1 Chronicles 29:11 Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.
Jeremiah 10:6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; Thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
Isaiah 12:6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: For great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
