Pastor Bryan –MONIKER– JEHOVAH SHALOM

“Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.”

Psalm 34:3

“It is all right,” the Lord replied. “Do not be afraid. You will not die.” And Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and named it Jehovah-Shalom (which means “the Lord is peace”).

Judges 6:23-24

SHALOM: The state of being or complete .

HOW DO WE LOSE OUR PEACE

“…All the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.”

Judges 21:25

QUOTE: No God, no peace… Know God, know peace.

I WISH YOU HAD MY PEACE

“I am leaving you with a gift peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

John 14:27

“But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Comforter won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.”

John 16:7

“THE PEACE YOU NEED IS NOT A FRUIT OF YOU! “

THE PEACE YOU NEED IS NOT A FRUIT OF SELF BUT A FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT.

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

Galatians 2:22

BEING FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT MEANS…

  1. When the is on, I am not .

“And I will ask the father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.”

John 14:16

“No, I will not abandon you as orphans I will come to you.”

John 14:18

  • Having God with you is GOOD: having God in you is BETTER.

2. When I feel lost, the Holy Spirit TELLS ME WHAT TO DO.

“He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.”

John 14:17

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.”

John 16:13

3. I can be STRONG when I feel WEAK.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

“But as for me, I am filled with power with the Spirit of the Lord.”

Micah 3:8

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”

Romans 8:11

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers[l] in harmony with God’s own will.”

Romans 8:26-27

“On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”

Acts 2:1-4

“After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”

Acts 4:31

4. I can live a SUPERNATURAL life.

“And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.”

John 16:8

“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.”

Ephesians 5:18

“Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”

Romans 8:5-6

OUR RESPONSE

to the Holy Spirit.

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.  Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.”

Galatians 2:24-26
