WALKING IN THE SPIRIT #2

THEME: THE KEY TO GOD’S VOICE IS WALKING IN THE SPIRIT.

DEFINITION OF WALKING IN THE SPIRIT:  “Learning how to spiritually walk, step by step, following the leading of the Holy Spirit rather than allowing your soul to rule over your circumstances, choices, and feelings.”

• God’s voice gives protection.
• When you are not hearing God’s voice, you have lost protection.

The soul is not created to be in charge but was created to be under the spirit in order to be protected. This is the divine order of creation. Galatians 6:8; John 15:11

RESULTS OF WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

• Following God’s order allows the Spirit to be in charge.
• The soul is at peace, there is calmness and respite.

ALIGNMENT: The soul is now under submission to the spirit.

The father is communicating with the soul and issuing orders. [THIS IS WALKING IN THE SPIRIT]

Psalm 119:11; Colossians 3:13

A person walking in the flesh doesn’t have peace because they are trying to fix only what God can fix.

Ephesians 6:12

Restoration and healing can’t take place if the bruising persists. If the beating is still happening, then it needs to stop. THAT IS A PROCES

1. WHY WALK IN THE SPIRIT?

• Hearing God’s voice provides spiritual protection.
• Spiritual maturity takes place when the spirit man grows.
• Satan attacks our spirit through our soul. [Jealousy, fear, pride, conceit]
• The soul presses into the spirit and takes control of the spirit.

FOCUS:  When you are out of alignment, you can’t hear God’s voice, and it seems that God is quiet and not speaking.

2. TO TAKE THE GOSPEL TO THE WORLD. MY GOALS, MY PLANS, MY EGOS, MY WILL HAS TO DIE.

• God presses His will into our SOUL. This is where the struggle comes in.
• Problems: Pride, stubbornness, and our unwillingness to change. We want our kingdom.
• We must make the soul diminish by an act of your will. [Make it lineup.]

Focus Prayer: “Lord, allow my relationship with you to cause my soul to submit to my Spirit.”

Isaiah 43:1-3

God will teach us how to walk. He will teach us where to walk and when to walk. 

“Father, I choose to be a person who walks in the spirit, and who will not walk in the flesh. Lord, I allow you to crucify my Body, I allow you to restore my soul, and I long to live in your presence to experience your renewal in my spirit. “
