“SPEAKING BLESSINGS”
We need to understand what it means to bless, to be blessed, to be a blessing.
We see PATRIARCHAL WISDOM in bestowing blessings, by speaking a verbal blessing on their daughters and sons.
James 3:10-12
To say “God bless you” is more than a colloquialism. It is a phrase that signifies God’s anointing.
THERE ARE 5 MEANINGS WHEN SPEAKING A BLESSING.
1. GOD BLESS YOU = “GOD MAKE YOU WHOLE.”
IT ALSO MEANS TO MAKE HOLY.
2. GOD BLESS YOU = “GOD GIVE YOU DIVINE FAVOR.”
God, give you favor for your situation. Favor in your circumstance. God, give you favor in your condition.
3. GOD BLESS YOU = “MEANS TO WISH A PERSON WELL.”
4. GOD BLESS YOU = “TO MAKE HAPPY. GOD MAKE YOU HAPPY,”
Instead of being sad, downhearted, perplexed. God make you to be happy and prosper you.
Prov. 10:22
5. GOD BLESS YOU = “TO GLADDEN, GLORIFY OR TO PRAISE.”
God bless you= “God make you whole, God give you favor, God make you well, God make you prosperous, God make you glad. Psalm 133:1-3; Phil. 4:8
WE LIVE IN AN AGITATED AND VIOLENT FIELD. Our time is different time, it is unusual, it is a time when many curses are upon society, and people’s own ground they plow on is agitated and very violent.
QUESTION: Have you ever felt that someone was cursing you. Not cussing, but cursing? You can feel heavy, oppressed, and down because of the results of someone saying something. They speak down about you. They speaking negative.
Let me say it: “God bless you congregation, God bless you ladies, God bless you men, God bless you teenagers, God bless you kids. May the hand of the Lord smile upon you.
THERE ARE 3 AREAS IN WHICH BLESSINGS CAN BEGIN TO WORK.
WE CAN SEND A BLESSING.
James 3:10- Proceed blessings… Greek Word= Shot out, Psalm 107:20 “He sent his word, and healed them.”
When you bless someone, you are sending wholeness, favor, gladness, prosperity, and wellness. You are sending it with your mouth. A blessing is spoken with your mouth, meant from the heart and felt in the spirit.
ILLUS.: Write a blessing for your children every day.
Plenty to complain about. Plenty to grip about. In Church, politics, and in job, family, home. You can find all kind of things to be negative, but send out a blessing…. you’ll reap it back.
James 3:7-10…..Vs. 8 “It is an unruly evil.”…
I Peter 3:9 (proper, be happy, bestow blessings upon)
-Do not render evil for evil, do not rail for rail.

-What comes out of your mouth the most? BLESSINGS, CURSINGS? Not cussing’s.

THE MOUTH IS THE GUN THAT SENDS THE AMMO: You have 2 chambers in your life. SOUL/SPIRIT
2. 3 THINGS YOU CAN PUT BLESSINGS ON.
A. SEND A BLESSING ON SITUATIONS, CIRCUMSTANCES AND CONDITIONS.
Fire blessings off from your own chambers. To bless something is to go about to change something. If something is not blessed and something is not right, you try to bless to change you. (Blessing people is blessing others)
*Dedicate your home with speaking blessings.* I Peter 3:8
B. SEND A BLESSING ON PEOPLE.
You can change people by blessing them. Blessing people to change the situation.
Matt. 5:44 -Be honest, I have an enemy or enemies, whether it is my control or not.
People get bent out of shape for all kinds of reasons, that’s just life. What do you do? Do you get in the ring and fight with them? Do you rail when they rail? NO! Do you accuse when they accuse? NO! “Contra-wise, blessing”.
-Take this bad situation, the “bad blood.”, give you an opportunity to bless them. Are you facing a lion’s den? “BLESS THE LIONS.” Matt. 5:43
-You are to do it. God will not bless sin, but God says you send a blessing out. If they have an attitude problem. “Do good to them that hate you...treat them good. Instead of railing…treat them good.
-WHEN YOU RAIL ON SOMEONE WHO RAILS,Railing will make a railer wors
-Don’t rebuke a scorner. Pray for them, do good to them that hate you:
- Bake a pie.
- Help their kids.
- Give transportation.
- Bless them
- Give financially
-Worse thing you can do is return railing for railing. “Pray for them that despitefully use you.”
We bless Circumstances, conditions, and situations. We bless people.
Psalm 103:1-5
THESE 5 BLESSINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU BLESS GOD:
- Forgives iniquities
- Heals diseases.
- Redeems your life from destruction.
- Crowns your life with loving-kindness.
- Satisfies your mouth with good things, so your youth is renewed like the eagles.
-Don’t just bless the situations, circumstances, conditions and people, but BLESS the LORD!
-Blessing: Wholeness, wellness, Favor, prosper, gladness.
