“The Power of Fatherhood.”

TEXT:   Malachi 4:6

Introductory Points:

  • Jesus was the mediator between God and man.
  • The Old Testament was the prophecy and promise.
  • The New Testament became the fulfillment.
  • God has called the FATHER to determine the sex of the child.
  • It is essential that the FATHER re-affirm the sex of the children.
  1. The Church is the Mother, and God is our Father.

Everything we receive from God is masculine. Everything that we give back to God is feminine.

           2. How do we know God’s gender? Is. 64:8; Matt. 6:9; I Cor. 8:6; II Cor. 6:18

FACTS OF FATHERHOOD:

  • He (Father God & earthly father) creates life and determines gender.
  • He (Father God & earthly father) is in the role of provider. Phil 4:19
  • He (Father God & earthly father) is in the role of protection. Psalms 103:13
  1. THE CALL OF FATHERS ON A NATION.
  2. THE CALL OF FATHERS IN THE HOME.  Eph. 5:6
  3. THE CALL OF FATHERS IN THE CHURCH.

As God works through leadership, it is received in the masculine form, but it is

responded to in the feminine form.

        I Cor. 4:15; I Cor. 4:16-17

We need fathers in our Churches who have a fathering spirit.

      4. THE FATHER’S CALL ON EVERYONE.

Ps. 68:5-God is revealed as a father, and all relationships, come through fatherhood.

You can’t separate your church from your family.

  • God is revealed as a father, and all relationships come through fatherhood.
  1. THE FATHER’S ANOINTING. John 14:7

The blessing of the father was valued. Gen. 48-49.

People’s identity is based on who they fathered and who their father was.

Jeremiah 1:5

Conclusion: I will be a father to the fatherless.
