Username and Password: Kingdom Come

It’s happened to all of us. We are trying to get into a webpage and put in our username and our password and the website will not recognize it. For some of us here today, this is exactly what prayer feels like.

This series is all about getting back to the simplicity of prayer. We are using the Lord’s Prayer as a template..

Matthew 6:5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

But if you look back at the Scripture you will begin to understand that prayer is not a transaction that we make with God, it is actually a space that we inhabit.

Prayer is the sacred act of humbly connecting with father God’s great abundance in the throne room of grace.

 

9 Pray then like this:

“Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name.

10 Your kingdom come,

your will be done,

    on earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread,

12 and forgive us our debts,

    as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation,

    but deliver us from evil.

The kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Just simply take this phrase and examine it.

• God has a kingdom.  He is the king of his kingdom.
• God has a will, a plan, a way he wants things to happen.
• When his plan is being done, that is where the kingdom shows up.
• His kingdom and his will originate in heaven.
• We have the right to ask for the heavenly kingdom to show up on the Earth.
• And so, when we pray, the kingdom come, we are asking for what’s up there in heaven, to show up down here on the Earth.

What is this kingdom we should be asking to come?

When we ask for the kingdom to come, we are asking for God‘s kingdom to show up – show up where God can get his way. But what is the kingdom of God? It’s any place where God’s will is being done. It’s any place where everything is as God wants it to be. The kingdom of God is what it looks like when Jesus is in charge. When Jesus gets his way. 

The kingdom of God is a beautiful place.

To live in this kingdom is worth everything.

The kingdom of God is where God rules.

The kingdom of God is where God‘s will is done.

When God is king, we experience

Heavenly presence

Heavenly peace

Heavenly provision

Heavenly protection

Heavenly ability

Heavenly providence

Heavenly grace

Heavenly help

Your will be done… And what is the will of God?

 

1 John 2:3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected.

The will of God is simply God‘s best.

The will of God is a release of God’s highest and best purposes for his creation.

The will of God is what is best for you, for others, and for the whole world.

The will of God is whatever he has determined is best for his purposes and plans.

When we pray “your kingdom come, you will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven” we are asking for at least three things.

1. When we pray “the kingdom come” we are asking to live in his house and be under his charge.
2. When we pray “your kingdom come” we begin to look for opportunities to extend his kingdom through our actions.

Acts 10:38  …how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

Thy kingdom come is more than just a prayer. Jesus brought the kingdom in every action and interaction. He was showing everybody what it looks like when God shows up and is in charge.

You could do the same thing.

3. When we pray “your kingdom come” you are inciting violence against every other kingdom; especially the kingdom of darkness.

You need to know this about your prayer life; Every time you ask for the kingdom to show up on this earth, you are participating in an act of violence that terrifies Satan. Your kingdom come prayer is asking God to rule here. Rule now. Set things in order. Overthrow the darkness. You are starting a fight. You’re throwing out the enemy.

Luke 11:20 But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe; 22 but when one stronger than he attacks him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted and divides his spoil.

When we pray the Lord’s prayer we say, “let your kingdom come, let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” That is a plea for every good and perfect gift from above to bring order to this planet and to our world and overthrow the darkness.

A todos nos ha pasado. Estamos tratando de ingresar a una página web e ingresar nuestro nombre de usuario y nuestra contraseña y el sitio web no lo reconocerá. Para algunos de nosotros aquí hoy, esto es exactamente lo que se siente en la oración.

7 Y cuando oren, no amontonen frases vacías como hacen los gentiles, porque piensan que serán escuchados por sus muchas palabras. 8 No seáis como ellos, porque vuestro Padre sabe lo que necesitáis antes de que se lo pidáis.

 

Pero si miras hacia atrás en las Escrituras, comenzarás a entender que la oración no es una transacción que hacemos con Dios, en realidad es un espacio que habitamos.

 

La oración es el acto sagrado de conectarse humildemente con la gran abundancia de Dios Padre en la sala del trono de la gracia.

 

9 Orad, pues, de esta manera:

“Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.10 Venga tu reino, hágase tu voluntad, así en la tierra como en el cielo.11 Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día,12 y perdónanos nuestras deudas, como también nosotros hemos perdonado a nuestros deudores.13 Y no nos dejes caer en tentación, sino líbranos del mal.

 

Venga el reino, hágase tu voluntad, así en la tierra como en el cielo. Simplemente toma esta frase y examínala.

• Dios tiene un reino.  Él es el rey de su reino.
• Dios tiene una voluntad, un plan, una forma en que quiere que sucedan las cosas.
• Cuando su plan se está llevando a cabo, ahí es donde aparece el reino.
• Su reino y su voluntad se originan en el cielo.
• Tenemos el derecho de pedir que el reino celestial aparezca en la Tierra.
• Y entonces, cuando oramos, venga el reino, estamos pidiendo que lo que está allá arriba en el cielo, que se manifieste aquí en la Tierra.

¿Cuál es este reino que deberíamos pedir que venga?

 

Cuando pedimos que venga el reino, estamos pidiendo que el reino de Dios se manifieste, que se presente donde Dios pueda salirse con la suya. Pero, ¿qué es el reino de Dios? Es cualquier lugar donde se está haciendo la voluntad de Dios. Es cualquier lugar donde todo es como Dios quiere que sea. El reino de Dios es lo que parece cuando Jesús está a cargo. Cuando Jesús se sale con la suya.

 

El reino de Dios es un lugar hermoso.

Vivir en este reino vale todo.

El reino de Dios es donde Dios gobierna.

El reino de Dios es donde se hace la voluntad de Dios.

Cuando Dios es rey, experimentamos

Presencia celestial

Paz celestial

Provisión celestial

Protección celestial

Habilidad celestial

Providencia celestial

Gracia celestial

Ayuda celestial

 

Hágase tu voluntad… ¿Y cuál es la voluntad de Dios?

 

1 Juan 2:3 Y en esto sabemos que hemos llegado a conocerle, si guardamos sus mandamientos. 4 El que dice: Yo lo conozco, pero no guarda sus mandamientos, es mentiroso, y la verdad no está  en él, 5 pero el que guarda su palabra, verdaderamente se perfecciona en él el amor de Dios.

 

La voluntad de Dios es simplemente la mejor de Dios.

La voluntad de Dios es una liberación de los mejores y más elevados propósitos de Dios para su creación.

La voluntad de Dios es lo mejor para ti, para los demás y para el mundo entero.

La voluntad de Dios es lo que él ha determinado que es lo mejor para sus propósitos y planes.

 

Cuando oramos “venga tu reino, se acabará en la tierra, como en el cielo” estamos pidiendo al menos tres cosas.

1. Cuando oramos “venga el reino” estamos pidiendo vivir en su casa y estar a su cargo.
2. Cuando oramos “venga tu reino”, comenzamos a buscar oportunidades para extender su reino a través de nuestras acciones.

 

Hechos 10:38 … cómo Dios ungió a Jesús de Nazaret con el Espíritu Santo y con poder. Pasó haciendo el bien y sanando a todos los oprimidos por el diablo, porque Dios estaba con él.

 

Venga tu reino es más que una simple oración. Jesús trajo el reino en cada acción e interacción. Él les estaba mostrando a todos cómo se ve cuando Dios aparece y está a cargo.

Podrías hacer lo mismo.

3. Cuando oramos “venga tu reino” estás incitando a la violencia contra todos los demás reinos; especialmente el reino de las tinieblas.

 

Necesitas saber esto acerca de tu vida de oración; Cada vez que pides que el reino aparezca en esta tierra, estás participando en un acto de violencia que aterroriza a Satanás. Su reino venga a la oración es pedirle a Dios que gobierne aquí. Gobierna ahora. Pon las cosas en orden. Derroca la oscuridad. Estás empezando una pelea. Estás echando fuera al enemigo.

 

Lucas 11:20 Pero si por el dedo de Dios echo fuera demonios, entonces el reino de Dios ha llegado a vosotros. 21 Cuando un hombre fuerte, bien armado, guarda su propio palacio, sus bienes están a salvo; 22 Pero cuando uno más fuerte que él lo ataca y lo vence, le quita la armadura en la que confiaba y reparte su botín.

 

Cuando rezamos el Padre Nuestro decimos: “Venga tu reino, hágase tu voluntad, así en la tierra como en el cielo”. Esa es una súplica por todo regalo bueno y perfecto de lo alto para traer orden a este planeta y a nuestro mundo y derrocar la oscuridad.

 

¡Veamos lo que DIOS puede hacer!
