Uncontainable God

Uncontainable God

The main theme of this message is simply this; the uncontainable God has power over what has power over you.

If you read Scripture you cannot help but see this uncontainable God emerge again and again and again. From the pages of Scripture we begin to see the uncontainable God.

Start with Joseph of the Old Testament who said this; Genesis 50:20 (ESV)  As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

 

Look at Moses.

Exodus 15: Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord:

“I will sing to the Lord,

    for he has triumphed gloriously;

he has hurled both horse and rider

    into the sea.

2 The Lord is my strength and my song;

    he has given me victory.

This is my God, and I will praise him—

    my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

3 The Lord is a warrior;

    Yahweh is his name!

4 Pharaoh’s chariots and army

    he has hurled into the sea.

The finest of Pharaoh’s officers. 

5 The deep waters gushed over them;

    they sank to the bottom like a stone.

 

6 “Your right hand, O Lord,

    is glorious in power.

Your right hand, O Lord,

    smashes the enemy.

7 In the greatness of your majesty,

    you overthrow those who rise against you.

You unleash your blazing fury;

    it consumes them like straw.

8 At the blast of your breath,

    the waters piled up!

The surging waters stood straight like a wall;

    in the heart of the sea the deep waters became hard.

9 “The enemy boasted, ‘I will chase them

    and catch up with them.

I will plunder them

    and consume them.

I will flash my sword;

    my powerful hand will destroy them.’

10 But you blew with your breath,

    and the sea covered them.

They sank like lead

    in the mighty waters.

 

11 “Who is like you among the gods, O Lord—

    glorious in holiness,

awesome in splendor,

    performing great wonders?

12 You raised your right hand,

    and the earth swallowed our enemies.

13 “With your unfailing love you lead

    the people you have redeemed.

In your might, you guide them

    to your sacred home.

18 The Lord will reign forever and ever!”

Once again, we learn the uncontainable God has power over what has power over you.

There is Joshua.

There is Elijah.

Isaiah in the Old Testament is so captured by the glory of God that he tries to put words to God’s greatness.

Isaiah 43: 1 “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.

    I have called you by name; you are mine.

2 When you go through deep waters,

    I will be with you.

When you go through rivers of difficulty,

    you will not drown.

When you walk through the fire of oppression,

    you will not be burned up;

    the flames will not consume you.

3 For I am the Lord, your God,

    the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

 

13 “From eternity to eternity I am God.

    No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.

    No one can undo what I have done.”

 

God being uncontainable means that he is immeasurable, unquantifiable, without limit, he has no boundary and is infinite and has no limits.

Uncontainable means that there is no space, there is no place, there is no person, there is no collection of people, there is no institution, there is no denomination, there is no doctrine, there is no political party, that can ever limit who he is and what he will do.

One more story- Jesus.

In the final 24 hours of his life he addressed everything that was coming against him, his death, the attack coming from religion, coming from government, and coming from Satan himself.

John 14:30  I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me…

 John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

 

John 19:9  He entered his headquarters again and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 So Pilate said to him, “You will not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and authority to crucify you?” 11 Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above.

This morning do your thoughts

your words

your ideas

your future

your prayers

your habits

your money

reflect the uncontainable God?

Remember… the uncontainable God has power over what has power over you.

Dios incontenible

El tema principal de este mensaje es simplemente este; el Dios incontenible tiene poder sobre lo que tiene poder sobre ti.

 

Si lees las Escrituras, no puedes dejar de ver a este Dios incontenible emerger una y otra vez. A partir de las páginas de las Escrituras comenzamos a ver al Dios incontenible.

 

Comencemos con José del Antiguo Testamento que dijo esto; Génesis 50:20 (NVI) En cuanto a ti, pensaste mal contra mí, pero Dios lo hizo para bien, para que muchos hombres vivieran, como lo son hoy.

 

Mira a Moisés.

 

Éxodo 15: Entonces Moisés y los hijos de Israel cantaron este cántico al Señor:

“Cantaré al Señor, porque ha triunfado gloriosamente; Ha arrojado al mar tanto al caballo como al jinete.
2 El Señor es mi fortaleza y mi canción;    Él me ha dado la victoria. Este es mi Dios, y yo lo alabaré, el Dios de mi padre, y lo exaltaré.
3 El Señor es un guerrero;    ¡Yahvé es su nombre!

4 Los carros y el ejército de Faraón los ha arrojado al mar. El mejor de los oficiales del faraón. 
5 Las aguas profundas brotaron sobre ellos;    se hundieron hasta el fondo como una piedra.

 

6 »Tu diestra, oh Señor, es gloriosa en poder. Tu diestra, oh Señor, aplasta al enemigo.
7 En la grandeza de tu majestad, derribas a los que se levantan contra ti. Desatas tu furia ardiente;    los consume como paja.

8 ¡Al soplo de tu aliento, las aguas se amontonaron! Las aguas se erguían rectas como un muro;    En el corazón del mar, las aguas profundas se endurecieron.

9 »El enemigo se jactaba: ‘Los perseguiré y los alcanzaré. Los saquearé y los consumiré.
Mostraré mi espada;    Mi mano poderosa los destruirá’.
10 Pero tú soplaste con tu aliento, y el mar los cubrió. Se hundieron como plomo en las poderosas aguas.

 

11 »¿Quién como tú, oh Señor, entre los dioses, glorioso en santidad, imponente en esplendor, que realiza grandes prodigios?
12 Levantaste tu mano derecha, y la tierra se tragó a nuestros enemigos.

13 »Con tu amor inagotable diriges al pueblo que has redimido. Con tu poder, los guías a tu sagrado hogar.

18 ¡El Señor reinará por los siglos de los siglos!

 

Una vez más, aprendemos  que el Dios incontenible tiene poder sobre lo que tiene poder sobre ti.

 

Ahí está Josué.

Ahí está Elías.

 

Isaías en el Antiguo Testamento está tan capturado por la gloria de Dios que trata de poner palabras a la grandeza de Dios.

 

Isaías 43:1 “No temáis, porque yo os he rescatado.    Te he llamado por tu nombre. Eres mía.
2 Cuando atravieses aguas profundas, yo estaré contigo. Cuando atravieses ríos de dificultad, no te ahogarás. Cuando camines a través del fuego de la opresión, no serás quemado;    Las llamas no te consumirán.
3 Porque yo soy el Señor, tu Dios, el Santo de Israel, tu Salvador.

 

13 »Yo soy Dios de eternidad en eternidad.    Nadie puede arrebatar a nadie de mi mano.    Nadie puede deshacer lo que yo he hecho”.

 

Que Dios sea incontenible significa que es inconmensurable, incuantificable, sin límite, no tiene frontera y es infinito y no tiene límites.

 

Incontenible significa que no hay espacio, no hay lugar, no hay persona, no hay grupo de personas, no hay institución, no hay denominación, no hay doctrina, no hay partido político, que pueda limitar quién es y qué hará.

 

Una historia más: Jesús.

 

En las últimas 24 horas de su vida abordó todo lo que venía en su contra, su muerte, el ataque proveniente de la religión, del gobierno y del mismo Satanás.

 

Juan 14:30 Ya no hablaré mucho con vosotros, porque viene el príncipe de este mundo. Él no tiene ningún derecho sobre mí…

 

 Juan 16:33 Os he dicho estas cosas, para que en mí tengáis paz. En el mundo tendréis tribulación. Pero anímate; He vencido al mundo.

 

Juan 19:9 Entró otra vez en su cuartel general y dijo a Jesús: ¿De dónde eres? Pero Jesús no le dio ninguna respuesta. 10 Entonces Pilato le dijo: —¿No quieres hablarme? ¿No sabéis que tengo autoridad para soltaros y autoridad para crucificaros?” 11 Jesús le respondió: —No tendrías autoridad sobre mí si no te hubiera sido dada de arriba.

 

Esta mañana haz tus pensamientos

Tus palabras

Tus ideas

Tu futuro

Sus oraciones

Tus hábitos

Tu dinero

reflejar al Dios incontenible?

 

Recordar… el Dios incontenible tiene poder sobre lo que tiene poder sobre ti.

 

¡Veamos lo que DIOS puede hacer!
