Lord, Do it again!

 

Listen to how John the Baptist talked about Jesus at the very beginning of His emerging ministry.

 

John 1:29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him, but for this purpose I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.” 32 And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. 33 I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”

 

Mark 1:7  And he preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. 8 I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

 

And then Jesus speaks about the Holy Spirit.

 

Luke 24:49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

 

 Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

 

And this happens.

 

Acts 2:1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

 

And this brand-new baptism of the spirit is not for just the select few, it is for all who believe.

 

Acts 2:17  “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,

that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,

and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

    and your young men shall see visions,

    and your old men shall dream dreams;

18 even on my male servants and female servants

    in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

 

Today, right now, are you filled with the Holy Spirit? Is your soul filled with the HS?

 

What is this baptism of the spirit? Here is a list of eight ways that the spirit fills you.

 

It is a baptism presence. John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

 

It is a baptism of belonging. Romans 8:145…but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

 

It is a baptism of provision. The Holy Spirit brings peace. Enlightenment. Understanding. Intervention. He leads. He guides. He brings all that is needed.

 

It is a baptism of power. Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon…   The Holy Spirit brings ability and enablement upon your life to witness – to serve – he gives gifts which enable you to be valuable to his church –

 

It is a baptism of love. Romans 5:5 …God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

 

It is a baptism of life and resurrection power. Romans 8:11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

 

It is a baptism of fire for passion and purity. Luke 3:16 John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

 

It is a baptism of new character. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

 

The baptism of the spirit in its fullness is for those who say “not my will be done, but your will be done.” For those who say, “all me for all of you.”

¡Señor, hazlo de nuevo!

 

Escuche cómo Juan el Bautista habló de Jesús al comienzo de su ministerio emergente.

 

Juan 1:29 Al día siguiente vio a Jesús que venía hacia él, y dijo: He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo. 30 Este es aquel de quien dije: “Después de mí viene un hombre que está delante de mí, porque fue antes que yo. 31 Yo mismo no lo conocía, pero para esto vine bautizando con agua, para que se manifieste a Israel. 32 Y Juan dio testimonio: “Vi al Espíritu descender del cielo como una paloma, y se posó sobre él. 33 Yo mismo no lo conocía, pero el que me envió a bautizar con agua me dijo: “Aquel sobre quien veas descender y permanecer el Espíritu, ése es el que bautiza con el Espíritu Santo. 34 Y he visto y he dado testimonio de que éste es el Hijo de Dios.

 

Marcos 1:7 Y predicó, diciendo: Después de mí viene el que es más poderoso que yo, y cuya correa de las sandalias no soy digno de rebajarme y desatar. 8 Yo los he bautizado con agua, pero él los bautizará con el Espíritu Santo.

 

Y luego Jesús habla del Espíritu Santo.

 

Lucas 24:49 Y he aquí, yo envío sobre vosotros la promesa de mi Padre. Pero quédate en la ciudad hasta que seas revestido de poder de lo alto”.

 

Hechos 1:8 Mas recibiréis poder cuando el Espíritu Santo venga sobre vosotros, y seréis mis testigos en Jerusalén y en toda Judea y Samaria, y hasta los confines de la tierra.

 

Y esto sucede.

 

Hechos 2:1 Cuando llegó el día de Pentecostés, estaban todos juntos en un mismo lugar. 2 Y de repente vino del cielo un estruendo como de un viento recio, que llenó toda la casa donde estaban sentados. 3 Y se les aparecieron lenguas partidas como de fuego, y se posaron sobre cada uno de ellos. 4 Y todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo, y comenzaron a hablar en otras lenguas, según el Espíritu les daba que hablasen.

 

Y este nuevo bautismo del espíritu no es solo para unos pocos elegidos, es para todos los que creen.

 

Hechos 2:17 “Y en los postreros días sucederá Dios, que derramaré mi Espíritu sobre toda carne, y vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas profetizarán, y vuestros jóvenes verán visiones, y vuestros ancianos soñarán sueños;
18 Derramaré mi Espíritu sobre mis siervos y mis siervas en aquellos días, y profetizarán.

 

Hoy, ahora mismo, ¿estás lleno del Espíritu Santo? ¿Está tu alma llena de la HS?

 

¿Qué es este bautismo del espíritu? Aquí hay una lista de ocho formas en que el espíritu te llena.

 

Es una presencia bautismal. Juan 14:18 No os dejaré huérfanos; Yo vendré a ti.

 

Es un bautismo de pertenencia. Romanos 8:145… pero vosotros habéis recibido el Espíritu de adopción como hijos, por el cual clamamos: “¡Abba! ¡Padre!”

 

Es un bautismo de provisión. El Espíritu Santo trae paz. Ilustración. Comprensión. Intervención. Él lidera. Él guía. Él trae todo lo que se necesita.

 

Es un bautismo de poder. Hechos 1:8 Mas recibiréis poder cuando el Espíritu Santo venga sobre… El Espíritu Santo trae la capacidad y la capacidad sobre tu vida para testificar – para servir – te da dones que te permiten ser valioso para su iglesia –

 

Es un bautismo de amor. Romanos 5:5 … El amor de Dios ha sido derramado en nuestros corazones a través del Espíritu Santo que nos ha sido dado.

 

Es un bautismo de poder de vida y resurrección. Romanos 8:11 Si el Espíritu de aquel que resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos mora en vosotros, el que resucitó a Cristo Jesús de entre los muertos también dará vida a vuestros cuerpos mortales por medio de su Espíritu que mora en vosotros.

 

Es un bautismo de fuego para la pasión y la pureza. Lucas 3:16 Juan respondió a todos, diciendo: Yo os bautizo con agua, pero viene el que es más poderoso que yo, a quien no soy digno de desatar la correa de sus sandalias. Él te bautizará con el Espíritu Santo y fuego.

 

Es un bautismo de nuevo carácter. Gálatas 5:22 Mas el fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, paciencia, benignidad, bondad, fidelidad, 23 mansedumbre, templanza; contra tales cosas no hay ley. 24 Y los que pertenecen a Cristo Jesús han crucificado la carne con sus pasiones y deseos.

 

El bautismo del espíritu en su plenitud es para aquellos que dicen: “No se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya”. Para los que dicen: “todo yo para todos ustedes”.

 

¡Veamos lo que DIOS puede hacer!
