Prayer license – Rooty Tooty fresh and fruity praying

On the night before Jesus died he had gathered his disciples in a room and told them to use his name, the name of Jesus, in prayer. He says this four times;

John 14:13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

We call this glory prayers.

And what about resurrection prayers.

John 16:23  Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

We talked about tethered prayers.

John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Today we will talk about Rooty tooty fresh and fruity prayers…

John 15:1  “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

Abiding in Christ is plugging into Jesus Christ through devotional practices and disciplines. When we do this we are connected to Jesus. And that’s when the fruit comes. Fruit is the things that God is doing in us that leak out of us to other people and does good for them. Fruit from a tree is the byproduct of the life of the vine of that tree. Fruit nourishes and blesses those who eat it.

John 15:12“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

As Jesus continues to talk about what it means to produce fruit out of our life he points to the number one fruit – love.

He uses the word for love that is unique to Christianity and means loving someone no matter who they are, no matter what they’ve done, and no matter how you feel.

John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

We are the carriers of Jesus Christ to everyone in this world.

This is the highest privilege.

This is the most important job.

We are to proclaim his excellence and his goodness and to tell our testimony.

John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

When we pray in the name of Jesus we are praying down power

• we are praying down the defeat of God’s enemies
• we are praying down miracles
• we are calling on angels to do battle
• we are starting wars
• we are invoking God’s hand
• we are seeking his resources
• we want God’s will to rain
• we are frustrating demons
• we are seeing God strategies put into place
• we are breaking the back of dark powers

Let’s see what GOD can do!

La noche antes de que Jesús muriera, había reunido a sus discípulos en una habitación y les había dicho que usaran su nombre, el nombre de Jesús, en oración. Lo dice cuatro veces;

Juan 14:13 Todo lo que pidáis en mi nombre, esto haré , para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo. 14 Si me pides algo en mi nombre, lo haré.

Llamamos a esto oraciones de gloria.

¿Y qué hay de las oraciones de resurrección?

Juan 16:23 De cierto, de cierto os digo que todo lo que pidáis al Padre en mi nombre, él os lo dará. 24 Hasta ahora no has pedido nada en mi nombre. Pide, y recibirás, que tu gozo sea completo.

Hablamos de oraciones atadas.

Juan 15:7 Si permaneces en mí, y mis palabras permanecen en ti, pide lo que quieras, y se hará por ti.

Hoy hablaremos de las oraciones frescas y afrutadas de Rooty tooty…

Juan 15:1 “Yo soy la vid verdadera, y mi Padre es el viñador. 2 Todo sarmiento en mí que no da fruto lo quita, y todo pámpano que da fruto lo poda, para que dé más fruto. 3 Ya estás limpio por la palabra que te he hablado. 4 Permaneced en mí, y yo en vosotros. Como el sarmiento no puede dar fruto por sí mismo, a menos que permanezca en la vid, tú tampoco puedes, a menos que permanezcas en mí. 5 Yo soy la vid; vosotros sois los sarmientos. El que permanece en mí y yo en él, él es el que da mucho fruto, porque aparte de mí nada podéis hacer. 6 Si alguno no permanece en mí, es arrojado como una rama y se seca; y las ramas se recogen, se arrojan al fuego y se queman. 7 Si permaneces en mí, y mis palabras permanecen en ti, pide lo que quieras, y se hará por ti. 8 En esto mi Padre es glorificado, para que llevéis mucho fruto y así demostréis ser mis discípulos. 9 Como el Padre me ha amado, así yo os he amado a vosotros. Permaneced en mi amor. 10 Si guardáis mis mandamientos, permaneceréis en mi amor, así como yo he guardado los mandamientos de mi Padre y permanecí en su amor. 11 Estas cosas os he hablado, para que mi gozo esté en vosotros, y vuestro gozo sea pleno.

Permanecer en Cristo es conectarse a Jesucristo a través de prácticas y disciplinas devocionales. Cuando hacemos esto estamos conectados con Jesús. Y ahí es cuando llega la fruta. El fruto son las cosas que Dios está haciendo en nosotros que se escapan de nosotros a otras personas y hacen el bien para ellos. La fruta de un árbol es el subproducto de la vida de la vid de ese árbol. La fruta nutre y bendice a quienes la comen.

Juan 15:12»Este es mi mandamiento: que os améis los unos a los otros como yo os he amado. 13 Nadie tiene mayor amor que este, que alguien dé su vida por sus amigos. 14 Vosotros sois mis amigos si hacéis lo que os mando. 15  Ya no os llamo siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su amo; sino que os he llamado amigos, porque todo lo que he oído de mi Padre os he dado a conocer.

A medida que Jesús continúa hablando sobre lo que significa producir fruto de nuestra vida, señala el fruto número uno: el amor.

Él usa la palabra para amor que es exclusiva del cristianismo y significa amar a alguien sin importar quiénes sean, sin importar lo que hayan hecho y sin importar cómo te sientas.

Juan 15:16 No me elegiste a mí, sino que yo te elegí y te señalé  que fueras y  llevaras fruto y que tu fruto permaneciera, para que todo lo que pidas al Padre en mi nombre, él te lo dé. 17 Estas cosas os mando, para que os améis los unos a los otros.

1 Pedro 2:9 Pero vosotros sois una raza escogida, un sacerdocio real, una nación santa, un pueblo para su propia posesión, para que proclaméis las excelencias de aquel que os llamó de las tinieblas a su luz admirable. 10  Una vez no fuisteis un pueblo, pero ahora sois pueblo de Dios; una vez no habéis recibido misericordia, pero ahora habéis recibido misericordia.

Somos los portadores de Jesucristo para todos en este mundo.

Este es el privilegio más alto.

Este es el trabajo más importante.

Debemos proclamar su excelencia y su bondad y contar nuestro testimonio.

Juan 15:16 No me elegiste a mí, sino que yo te elegí y te señalé que fueras y llevaras fruto y que tu fruto permaneciera, para que todo lo que pidas al Padre en mi nombre, él te lo dé. 17 Estas cosas os mando, para que os améis los unos a los otros.

Cuando oramos en el nombre de Jesús estamos orando por el poder

• estamos orando por la derrota de los enemigos de Dios
• Estamos orando milagros
• Estamos llamando a los ángeles a luchar
• Estamos empezando guerras
• estamos invocando la mano de Dios
• Estamos buscando sus recursos
• queremos que la voluntad de Dios llueva
• Somos demonios frustrantes
• estamos viendo estrategias de Dios puestas en marcha
• Estamos rompiendo la espalda de los poderes oscuros

¡Veamos lo que Dios puede hacer!
