Questions; Will he find faith?

 

Luke 18:1 And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. 2 He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. 3 And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ 4 For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” 6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. 7 And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

 

Listen to the word of God… Listen to the insight that Jesus gives on how God works, when he works, and how he works when you talk to him.

 

Luke 18:1 And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

 

Jesus doesn’t want you to give up.

Jesus is telling us that there is a temptation to grow faint and to surrender.

He is talking to those growing discouraged.

And the antidote for weakness is none other than prayer.

 

How we underestimate the power of prayer. Prayer is so familiar to us that we sometimes forget its unique qualities.

 

Prayer is the ultimate and essential weapon of the Jesus follower and the church. Prayer is the line that connects our finite and limited abilities and resources to the infinite and limitless God.

 

I’m convinced that one of Satan’s full-time jobs is for you to reduce your prayer life to a series of nagging concerns, asking God for mystical protection, seeking forgiveness and seeking Almighty and divine help so you can live an ordinary life.

 

Luke 18:2 He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man.

 

This particular judge only really cares about himself. He doesn’t care about God’s law, he doesn’t respect people, and is a loose cannon doing whatever he wants.

 

Luke 18:3 And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’

 

The second character is a widow.

This woman is the direct opposite of this powerful judge.

 

Now the story turns in her favor…

Luke 18:4 For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” 

 

And now Jesus reveals the insight, an aspect of prayer that we have long forgotten about or have not utilized properly…

 

Luke 18:6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. 7 And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

 

Jesus is telling us that God is a prayer answering God.

He’s a God of action.

He is a God who doesn’t ignore the pain in your heart.

He is a God moved by prayers.

 

The question is then asked… Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?

 

The question is a simple one; are there still people with this kind of faith? This kind of desperation? People who are shamelessly and desperately and forcefully and intensely and persistently coming and asking God to move upon things that cannot be moved by our human abilities?

 

Are there people who are crying out to God for a return of what the enemy has stolen?

 

God is moved by what we are shedding tears over.

God is moved by the things that are breaking our heart.

God is moved by those who are taking their burdens to the throne of grace and will not take no for an answer.

 

God is looking for this kind of faith.

 

There is a certain kind of praying, there is a certain arena of prayer, where people enter,

people who can’t change a situation,

people who cannot get the wrongs righted in their own power,

and in that arena we are coming to God but he’s nothing like this unrighteous judge.

Our God sits on a throne of grace,

our God invites us to boldly pray,

our God has promised to make a move,

our God promises to be faithful and true.

 

This kind of praying is shameless – “I don’t care who knows – I don’t care what anybody says – I don’t care what they think – I have an issue that needs to be resolved and I’m going public until I get the answer that is needed.”

 

Do you have a prayer like that left in your life?

 

Do you want to see revival?

You want to see in the darkness in our nation overturned?

Do you want to see your own sons and daughters and grandsons and granddaughters filled with the spirit of God?

Do you want to see wokeness defeated?

Do you want to see the church rise up?

Do you want people to know Jesus Christ in a powerful way?

Do you want to see unrighteous laws torn to shreds?

Do you want to see love restored to the hearts of God’s people?

Do you want to see miracles, signs, and wonders?

 

Then pray.

Sin embargo, cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre, ¿encontrará fe en la tierra?”

 

Escucha la palabra de Dios… Escucha la visión que Jesús da sobre cómo obra Dios, cuándo obra y cómo obra cuando hablas con él.

Jesús no quiere que te rindas.

Jesús nos está diciendo que existe la tentación de desmayarse y rendirse.

Él está hablando con aquellos cada vez más desanimados.

Y el antídoto para la debilidad no es otro que la oración.

 

Cómo subestimamos el poder de la oración. La oración es tan familiar para nosotros que a veces olvidamos sus cualidades únicas.

 

La oración es el arma definitiva y esencial del seguidor de Jesús y de la iglesia. La oración es la línea que conecta nuestras habilidades y recursos finitos y limitados con el Dios infinito e ilimitado.

 

Estoy convencido de que uno de los trabajos de tiempo completo de Satanás es que usted reduzca su vida de oración a una serie de preocupaciones persistentes, pidiéndole a Dios protección mística, buscando el perdón y buscando la ayuda Todopoderosa y divina para que pueda vivir una vida ordinaria.

 

Lucas 18:2 Él dijo: “En cierta ciudad había un juez que no temía a Dios ni respetaba al hombre.

 

Este juez en particular solo se preocupa realmente por sí mismo. No le importa la ley de Dios, no respeta a las personas y es un cañón suelto que hace lo que quiere.

 

Lucas 18:3 Y había una viuda en esa ciudad que venía a él y le decía: Dame justicia contra mi adversario.

 

El segundo personaje es una viuda.

Esta mujer es el opuesto directo de este poderoso juez.

 

Ahora la historia gira a su favor…

Lucas 18:4 Por un tiempo se negó, pero después se dijo a sí mismo: Aunque no tema a Dios ni respeto al hombre, 5 sin embargo, porque esta viuda sigue molestándome, le daré justicia, para que no me golpee con su continua venida”.

 

Y ahora Jesús revela la visión, un aspecto de la oración que hemos olvidado hace mucho tiempo o que no hemos utilizado correctamente.

 

Lucas 18:6 Y el Señor dijo: “Escuchad lo que dice el juez injusto. 7 ¿Y no hará justicia Dios a sus elegidos, que claman a él día y noche? ¿Se demorará mucho en ellos? 8 Os digo que él les hará justicia rápidamente. Sin embargo, cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre, ¿encontrará fe en la tierra?”

 

Jesús nos está diciendo que Dios es una oración que responde a Dios.

Él es un Dios de acción.

Él es un Dios que no ignora el dolor en tu corazón.

Él es un Dios movido por las oraciones.

 

Entonces se hace la pregunta… Sin embargo, cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre, ¿encontrará fe en la tierra?

 

La pregunta es simple; ¿Todavía hay personas con este tipo de fe? ¿Este tipo de desesperación? ¿Personas que vienen descaradamente, desesperadamente, con fuerza, intensa y persistentemente, pidiéndole a Dios que se mueva sobre cosas que no pueden ser movidas por nuestras habilidades humanas?

 

¿Hay personas que claman a Dios por el retorno de lo que el enemigo ha robado?

 

Dios se conmueve por lo que estamos derramando lágrimas.

Dios es movido por las cosas que están rompiendo nuestro corazón.

Dios es movido por aquellos que están llevando sus cargas al trono de la gracia y no aceptará un no por respuesta.

 

Dios está buscando este tipo de fe.

 

Hay un cierto tipo de oración, hay una cierta arena de oración, donde la gente entra,

personas que no pueden cambiar una situación,

personas que no pueden corregir los errores en su propio poder,

y en esa arena estamos viniendo a Dios, pero él no se parece en nada a este juez injusto.

Nuestro Dios se sienta en un trono de gracia,

nuestro Dios nos invita a orar con valentía,

nuestro Dios ha prometido hacer un movimiento,

nuestro Dios promete ser fiel y verdadero.

 

Este tipo de oración es desvergonzada: “No me importa quién sabe, no me importa lo que digan los demás, no me importa lo que piensen, tengo un problema que debe resolverse y lo haré público hasta que obtenga la respuesta que se necesita”.

 

¿Te queda una oración como esa en tu vida?

 

¿Quieres ver avivamiento?

¿Quieres ver en la oscuridad de nuestra nación volcada?

¿Quieres ver a tus propios hijos e hijas y nietos y nietas llenos del espíritu de Dios?

¿Quieres ver el despertar derrotado?

¿Quieres ver a la iglesia levantarse?

¿Quieres que la gente conozca a Jesucristo de una manera poderosa?

¿Quieres ver leyes injustas hechas trizas?

¿Quieres ver el amor restaurado en los corazones del pueblo de Dios?

¿Quieres ver milagros, señales y maravillas?

 

Luego oren.

 

¡Veamos qué puede hacer Dios!
