OUTPOURED and OVERFLOWING – The Table

When I think about love I think about a table. Think about your family table.

Family bonds are forged around the table.

Laughter was learned at the table.

Manners were learned at this table.

Conversation happened at this table.

We all need a place at the table. We all have a space. We all want to belong.

In the Bible tables play a big part in many stories and Bible events.

Exodus 25:23 “You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. 24 You shall overlay it with pure gold… 30 And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly.

In the 23rd Psalm David talks about a different table; Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies…

Jesus life ended soon after being at a table with his disciples. Jesus called his friends to come and sit with him and this transpired…

Luke 22:14  And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. 15 And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 17 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. 18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 19 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

Jesus shared a meal that we still share 2000 years later.

Finish with these 3 things;

1. I hope that you have found your place at God’s table.
2. I hope you’re inviting everyone that you know to the table.
3. I hope that you love everyone around this table because when I think about a table, I think about love.

VERTIDO y DESBORDANTE – La Mesa

Cuando pienso en el amor, pienso en una mesa. Piensa en tu mesa familiar.

Los lazos familiares se forjan alrededor de la mesa.

La risa se aprendió en la mesa.

Los modales se aprendieron en esta mesa.

La conversación ocurrió en esta mesa.

Todos necesitamos un lugar en la mesa. Todos tenemos un espacio. Todos queremos pertenecer.

En la Biblia las tablas juegan un papel importante en muchas historias y eventos bíblicos.

Éxodo 25:23  “Harás una mesa de madera de acacia. Dos codos serán su longitud, un codo su anchura, y un codo y medio su altura. 24 Lo cubrirás con oro puro… 30 Y pondrás el pan de la Presencia sobre la mesa delante de mí regularmente.

En el Salmo 23 David habla de una mesa diferente; Salmo 23:5 Preparas una mesa delante de mí en presencia de mis enemigos…

La vida de Jesús terminó poco después de estar en una mesa con sus discípulos. Jesús llamó a sus amigos para que vinieran y se sentaran con él y esto sucedió…

Lucas 22:14  Y cuando llegó la hora, se reclinó a la mesa, y los apóstoles con él. 15 Y él les dijo: «He deseado fervientemente comer esta Pascua con vosotros antes de sufrir. 16 Porque os digo que no lo comeré hasta que se cumpla en el reino de Dios.” 17 Y tomó una copa, y cuando hubo dado gracias, dijo: «Tomen esto y divídanlo entre ustedes. 18 Porque os digo que de ahora en adelante no beberé del fruto de la vid hasta que venga el reino de Dios.” 19 Y tomó pan, y cuando hubo dado gracias, lo partió y se lo dio, diciendo: «Este es mi cuerpo, que es dado por vosotros. Haced esto en memoria mía.” 20 Y también la copa después de haber comido, diciendo: “Esta copa que es derramada por vosotros es el nuevo pacto en mi sangre.

Jesús compartió una comida que todavía compartimos 2000 años después.

Termina con estas 3 cosas;

1. Espero que hayas encontrado tu lugar en la mesa de Dios.
2. Espero que estés invitando a todos los que conoces a la mesa.
3. Espero que amen a todos alrededor de esta mesa porque cuando pienso en una mesa, pienso en el amor.

¡Veamos lo que Dios puede hacer!
