Trash Talk – Shadrach and Company

Trash Talk: Sometimes we just need to stand up and talk to our enemies, our problems and our situations in the name of Jesus.

This morning we’re going to travel about 580 years before the birth of Christ. I think that you’re going to see that what was going on then is not so different then what is going on today.

Daniel 3:4 “You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, 5 that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. 6 And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace.” 7 Therefore, as soon as all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Can you feel this happening today?

This is the pressure that we face; Bow to the image. Don’t make waves. Bow to what we want you to bow to and don’t ask questions. There is only one problem; people who have encountered Jesus Christ cannot bow. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refuse to bow. They won’t do it. They can’t do it. They will not worship anything else besides the one true God.

Daniel 3:13 Then Nebuchadnezzar in furious rage commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. So they brought these men before the king. 14 Nebuchadnezzar answered and said to them, “Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image that I have set up? 15 Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?”

Daniel 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

These 3 men state…

1. We have a God who can deliver.
2. We have a God who will deliver.
3. But even if we die today, you need to know that we will never serve your gods, we will never bow down to your image.

1 Peter 1:3 …he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

 Daniel 3:24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished and rose up in haste. He declared to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” 25 He answered and said, “But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”

And here we are 2700 years later still talking about these three men. Still talking about how God showed up. I wonder if we will leave a testimony like this?

 Charla basura: A veces solo necesitamos ponernos de pie y hablar con nuestros enemigos, nuestros problemas y nuestras situaciones en el nombre de Jesús.

Esta mañana vamos a viajar unos 580 años antes del nacimiento de Cristo. Creo que van a ver que lo que estaba pasando entonces no es tan diferente de lo que está pasando hoy.

Daniel 3:4 “Se os manda, oh pueblos, naciones y lenguas, 5 que cuando oigáis el sonido del cuerno, la pipa, la lira, el trígono, el arpa, la gaita y toda clase de música, debáis caer y adorar la imagen dorada que el rey Nabucodonosor ha establecido. 6 Y el que no caiga y adore será inmediatamente arrojado a un horno de fuego ardiente.” 7 Por lo tanto, tan pronto como todos los pueblos escucharon el sonido del cuerno, la pipa, la lira, el trígono, el arpa, la gaita y toda clase de música, todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas cayeron y adoraron la imagen dorada que el rey Nabucodonosor había establecido.

¿Puedes sentir que esto sucede hoy?

Esta es la presión a la que nos enfrentamos; Inclinarse ante la imagen. No hagas olas. Inclinate ante lo que queremos que te inclines y no hagas preguntas. Sólo hay un problema; las personas que han encontrado a Jesucristo no pueden inclinarse. Sadrac, Mesac y Abednego se niegan a inclinarse. No lo harán. No pueden hacerlo. No adorarán nada más que al único Dios verdadero.

Daniel 3:13 Entonces Nabucodonosor, furioso, ordenó que Sadrac, Mesac y Abednego fueran traídos. Así que llevaron a estos hombres ante el rey. 14 Nabucodonosor respondió y les dijo: “¿Es cierto, oh Sadrac, Mesac y Abednego, que no servís a mis dioses ni adoras la imagen dorada que he establecido? 15 Ahora, si estás listo cuando escuches el sonido del cuerno, la pipa, la lira, el trígono, el arpa, la gaita y todo tipo de música, a caerte y adorar la imagen que he hecho, bien y bien. Pero si no adoras, inmediatamente serás arrojado a un horno de fuego ardiente. ¿Y quién es el dios que te librará de mis manos?”

Daniel 3:16 Sadrac, Mesac y Abednego respondieron y le dijeron al rey: “Oh Nabucodonosor, no tenemos necesidad de responderte en este asunto. 17 Si esto es así, nuestro Dios a quien servimos es capaz de librarnos del horno de fuego ardiente, y nos librará de tu mano, oh rey. 18 Pero si no, que sepas, oh rey, que no serviremos a tus dioses ni adoraremos la imagen dorada que has establecido.”

Estos 3 hombres declaran…

1. Tenemos un Dios que puede liberar.
2. Tenemos un Dios que liberará.
3. Pero incluso si morimos hoy, necesitas saber que nunca serviremos a tus dioses, nunca nos inclinaremos ante tu imagen.

1 Pedro 1:3 … él nos ha hecho nacer de nuevo a una esperanza viva a través de la resurrección de Jesucristo de entre los muertos, 4 a una herencia que es imperecedera, inmaculada e indefectible, guardada en el cielo para ustedes, 5 que por el poder de Dios están siendo guardados a través de la fe para una salvación lista para ser revelada en el último tiempo.

 Daniel 3:24 Entonces el rey Nabucodonosor se asombró y se levantó apresuradamente. Declaró a sus consejeros: “¿No echamos a tres hombres atados al fuego?” Ellos respondieron y le dijeron al rey: “Verdadero, oh rey.” 25 Él respondió y dijo: “Pero veo a cuatro hombres sin ataduras, caminando en medio del fuego, y no están heridos; y la aparición del cuarto es como un hijo de los dioses”.

Y aquí estamos 2700 años después todavía hablando de estos tres hombres. Todavía hablando de cómo apareció Dios. Me pregunto si dejaremos un testimonio como este.

¡Veamos qué puede hacer DIOS!
