Termites in the church walls – Love grown cold – separation of church and hate

Today we are going to look at the termite that begins with a heart that grows cold and shuts everyone else out and can eventually be a heart that harms other people.

 1 John 3:11  For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12 We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you.

This is the first recorded killing in the Bible.

This is the first recorded description of what happens when hatred enters into the heart.

The way of Cain is marked by…

• anger
• bitterness
• being judgmental
• slandering
• having contempt for people
• despising people
• being hateful
• being divisive
• finding a way to hurt others
• thinking about the demise of another person and how they deserve it.

14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. 15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

It’s easy to be a Cain these days.

1 John 3:16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? 18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

The other termite that John deals with is what he calls the closing of the heart.

It’s time for a reset.

When our father in heaven looked upon this earth and saw the evil what did he do?

1 John 3:16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

 1 John 4:9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

 1 John 4:16 God is love…

God’s response is the response that radiates from the core of who he is; love. These verses are the very definition of love.

Love turns judgment grace.

And then John relates it to us.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

 1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

 1 John 4:8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

 1 John 4:21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

 1 John 3:11 For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

 1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

I want to present to you a picture, a picture of you, a picture of you that maybe you’ve never thought of before. You are a heart, soul, mind, and strength complex that is designed for love.

God has left you in the middle of this messy world to practice on a microscale what God has practiced on a macroscale; love.

Termitas en las paredes de la iglesia – Amor enfriado – separación de la iglesia y odio

Hoy vamos a ver la termita que comienza con un corazón que se enfría y cierra a todos los demás y eventualmente puede ser un corazón que daña a otras personas.

1 Juan 3:11  Porque este es el mensaje que habéis escuchado desde el principio, que debemos amarnos unos a otros.  12 No debemos ser como Caín, que era del maligno y asesinó a su hermano.  ¿Y por qué lo asesinó? Porque sus propias obras eran malas y las justas de su hermano.  13 No os sorprendáis, hermanos, de que el mundo os osmete.

Este es el primer asesinato registrado en la Biblia.

Esta es la primera descripción registrada de lo que sucede cuando el odio entra en el corazón.

El camino de Caín está marcado por…

• Enojo
• amargura
• ser crítico
• Slandering
• tener desprecio por las personas
• despreciar a las personas
• ser odioso
• ser divisivo
• encontrar una manera de lastimar a otros
• pensando en la desaparición de otra persona y cómo se lo merecen.

14 Sabemos que hemos pasado de la muerte a la vida, porque amamos a los hermanos.  Quien no ama permanece en la muerte. 15 Todo el que odia a su hermano es un asesino, y ustedes saben que ningún asesino tiene vida eterna en él.

Es fácil ser un Caín en estos días.

1 Juan 3:16 Por esto sabemos el amor, que él dio su vida por nosotros, y que debemos dar nuestra vida por los hermanos.  Pero si alguien tiene los bienes del mundo y ve a su hermano necesitado, pero cierra su corazón contra él, ¿cómo permanece el amor de Dios en él? 18 Hijitos, no amemos de palabra ni de palabra, sino de hecho y de verdad.

La otra termita con la que Juan trata es lo que él llama el cierre del corazón.

Es hora de un reinicio.

Cuando nuestro padre celestial miró esta tierra y vio el mal, ¿qué hizo?

1 Juan 3:16 Por esto sabemos el amor, que él dio su vida por nosotros, y que debemos dar nuestra vida por los hermanos.

1 Juan 4:9 En esto se manifestó entre nosotros el amor de Dios, para que Dios enviara a su hijo único al mundo, para que pudiéramos vivir a través de él.  10 En esto está el amor, no es que hayamos amado a Dios, sino que Él nos amó y envió a su Hijo para ser la propiciación por nuestros pecados.

1 Juan 4:16 Dios es amor…

La respuesta de Dios es la respuesta que irradia desde el núcleo de quién es Él;  amar. Estos versículos son la definición misma del amor.

El amor convierte la gracia del juicio.

Y entonces Juan nos lo relata.

1 Juan 4:7 Amados, amémonos los unos a los otros, porque el amor es de Dios, y el que ama ha nacido de Dios y conoce a Dios.

1 Juan 4:11 Amados, si Dios así nos amó, nosotros también debemos amarnos unos a otros.

1 Juan 4:8 El que no ama no conoce a Dios, porque Dios es amor.  20 Si alguien dice: “Amo a Dios” y odia a su hermano, es un mentiroso; porque el que no ama a su hermano a quien ha visto no puede amar a Dios a quien no ha visto.

1 Juan 4:21 Y este mandamiento lo tenemos de él: el que ama a Dios también debe amar a su hermano.

1 Juan 3:11 Porque este es el mensaje que habéis escuchado desde el principio, que debemos amarnos unos a otros.

1 Juan 3:18 Hijitos, no amemos de palabra ni de palabra, sino de hecho y de verdad.

Quiero presentarte una foto, una foto tuya, una foto tuya que tal vez nunca antes habías pensado.  Eres un complejo de corazón, alma, mente y fuerza que está diseñado para el amor.

Dios te ha dejado en medio de este mundo desordenado para practicar en una microescala lo que Dios ha practicado en una macroescala;  amar.

¡Veamos qué puede hacer DIOS!
