The Real Real – lead, follow or find a new way…Bold Pray-ers

One of the big ideas during this series of sermons has been that before you ever got here somebody was here preparing for you. And now it’s your turn – since you’re here – to prepare for the next person that is coming.

We need seed sowers – those who give generously through the church.

And water walkers – These are the people who step outside of their comfort zone and the safety net and allow God to use them to lead others to know Jesus.

We need humble heroes. Humble hero is the person who just shows up and says, “use me how I need to be used.” God doesn’t call the equipped, he equips the called.

Today we need prayer warriors.

Though we can all pray, all churches need those individuals who have a God-ordained ability to pray and to call upon the Lord to do mighty things, to break the strongholds of the enemy, to open the storehouses of heaven, to defeat the strategies of the devil, and to plead for the constant activity of divine power to be upon God’s people in God’s church.

Acts 4:1 And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them, 2 greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 4 But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.

This is intimidation.

5 On the next day their rulers and elders and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem, 6 with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family. 7 And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, “By what power or by what name did you do this?”

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them… “10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well.

11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. 14 But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.

18 So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, 20 for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” 21 And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people, for all were praising God for what had happened. 22 For the man on whom this sign of healing was performed was more than forty years old.

23 When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God

and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, 25 who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit,

“‘Why did the Gentiles rage,
    and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth set themselves,
    and the rulers were gathered together,
    against the Lord and against his Anointed’ —

27 for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, 28 to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place.

29 And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, 30 while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

Are you asking God for something big?

Ask for a God sized

God directed

God thought

God made

God managed

God empowered

God orchestrated

move of God to happen. Where are you asking for God to show up in his glory – in his unique way, in his majesty, and something that is unmistakably God?

Let’s see what GOD can do!

Una de las grandes ideas durante esta serie de sermones ha sido que antes de que llegaras aquí alguien estaba aquí preparándose para ti.  Y ahora es tu turno, ya que estás aquí, de prepararte para la próxima persona que viene.

Necesitamos sembradores de semillas , aquellos que dan generosamente a través de la iglesia.

Y caminantes de agua – Estas son las personas que salen de su zona de confort y la red de seguridad y permiten que Dios los use para guiar a otros a conocer a Jesús.

Necesitamos héroes humildes.  El héroe humilde es la persona que simplemente aparece y dice: “úsame como necesito que me usen”.  Dios no llama a los equipados, equipa a los llamados.

Hoy necesitamos guerreros de oración.

Aunque todos podemos orar, todas las iglesias necesitan a aquellos individuos que tienen una habilidad ordenada por Dios para orar e invocar al Señor para que haga cosas poderosas, para romper las fortalezas del enemigo, para abrir los almacenes del cielo, para derrotar las estrategias del diablo y para suplicar por la actividad constante del poder divino para estar sobre el pueblo de Dios en la iglesia de Dios.

Hechos 4:1 Y mientras hablaban al pueblo, los sacerdotes y el capitán del templo y los saduceos se acercaron a ellos, 2 muy molestos porque estaban enseñando al pueblo y proclamando en Jesús la resurrección de entre los muertos. 3 Y los arrestaron y los pusieron bajo custodia hasta el día siguiente,  porque ya era de noche.  4 Pero muchos de los que habían oído la palabra creyeron, y el número de los hombres llegó a unos cinco mil.

Esto es intimidación.

5 Al día siguiente, sus gobernantes, ancianos y escribas se reunieron en Jerusalén, 6 con Anás el sumo sacerdote y Caifás y Juan y Alejandro, y todos los que pertenecían a la familia sumo sacerdotal. 7 Y cuando los pusieron en medio, preguntaron: “¿Con qué poder o con qué nombre hiciste esto?”

8 Entonces Pedro, lleno del Espíritu Santo, les dijo… “10 Que se sepa a todos ustedes y a todo el pueblo de Israel que por el nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, a quien crucificaron, a quien Dios resucitó de entre los muertos, por él este hombre está de pie delante de ustedes bien.

11 Este Jesús es la piedra que fue rechazada por vosotros, los constructores, que se ha convertido en la piedra angular. 12 Y no hay salvación en nadie más, porque no hay otro nombre bajo el cielo dado entre los hombres por el cual debamos ser salvos”.

13 Ahora bien, cuando vieron la audacia de Pedro y Juan, y percibieron que eran hombres comunes e incultos, se asombraron.  Y reconocieron que habían estado con Jesús. 14 Pero al ver al hombre que fue sanado de pie a su lado, no tenían nada que decir en oposición.

18 Así que los llamaron y les pidieron que no hablaran ni enseñaran en absoluto en el nombre de Jesús.  19 Pero Pedro y Juan les respondieron: “Si es correcto a los ojos de Dios escucharos a vosotros en lugar de a Dios, debéis juzgar, 20 porque no podemos dejar de hablar de lo que hemos visto y oído”. 21 Y cuando los amenazaron aún más, los dejaron ir, sin encontrar manera de castigarlos, porque el pueblo, porque todos estaban alabando a Dios por lo que había sucedido. 22 Porque el hombre sobre quien se realizó esta señal de curación tenía más de cuarenta años.

23 Cuando fueron liberados, se dirigieron a sus amigos e informaron de lo que los sumos sacerdotes y los ancianos les habían dicho.  24 Y cuando lo oyeron, alzaron sus voces juntos a Dios.

y dijo: “Señor soberano, que hizo el cielo, la tierra, el mar y todo lo que hay en ellos, 25 que por boca de nuestro padre David, tu siervo, dijo por el Espíritu Santo:

“¿Por qué se enfurecieron los gentiles
 y los pueblos conspiraron en vano?
26 Los reyes de la tierra se pusieron a sí mismos,
 y los gobernantes se reunieron,
 contra el Señor y contra su Ungido’ —

27 porque verdaderamente en esta ciudad se reunieron contra tu santo siervo Jesús, a quien ungiste, tanto Herodes como Poncio Pilato, junto con los gentiles y los pueblos de Israel, 28 para hacer lo que tu mano y tu plan habían predestinado a tener lugar.

29 Y ahora, Señor, mira sus amenazas y concede a tus siervos que continúen hablando tu palabra con toda audacia, 30 mientras extiendes tu mano para sanar, y las señales y maravillas se realizan a través del nombre de tu santo siervo Jesús”.

31 Y cuando habían orado, el lugar en el que estaban reunidos fue sacudido, y todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo y continuaron hablando la palabra de Dios con audacia.

¿Le estás pidiendo a Dios algo grande?

Pide un Dios del tamaño de un Dios

Dios dirigió

Dios pensó

Dios hecho

Dios manejó

Dios empoderado

Dios orquestó

movimiento de Dios para suceder.  ¿Dónde estás pidiendo que Dios aparezca en su gloria, a su manera única, en su majestad, y algo que es inequívocamente Dios?

¡Veamos qué puede hacer DIOS!
