Good and Pleasing Prayer

1 Timothy 2:1-6
Our goal for today: Be inspired to name at least one person in your life that you will commit to pray for daily until that person has an opportunity to receive Jesus Christ by faith.

What are we to do? – Verse 1Verse 1 – Prayer, petition, intercession, thanksgivingFor whom? – Verse 2Whomever the Lord puts in your path or on your heart. For those in places of authority and opposition.

What is in it for me? – Verse 3Praying for others is good for me and good for them. Praying for others makes God happy!

Why does it matter? – Verse 4God wants all to be made whole (sodzo) in Christ. When we pray for others, we reflect the heart of God.

What is the urgency? – Verse 5There is no other option for forgiveness and freedom. There is no other source of eternal hope.

How can I pray for those God places on my heart?

B. “In-Betweeners” – Pray for open hearts and opportunities.
