Toward the Light

Acts 9:1-19a
The Big Idea for Today:There is no place so dark that the light of Christ cannot and will not reach you. If we are willing to take a step of faith, the Lord will meet us right where we are.

Acts 1:8 – Remembering the promise of the risen Christ. In Acts, we have heard how this promise was fulfilled. In the next section, we learn that no one is excluded from God’s love and the gift of grace, not even an enemy of the Gospel.

Acts 9:1-2 – Saul, opponent of The Way. Understanding Saul. Understanding the Pharisee.

Acts 9:3-9 – Why do you persecute me? Jesus makes no distinction between himself and his followers. The church matters to the Lord.

Acts 9:10-16 – The Lord had a plan. Ananias only saw part of what the Lord had in mind. He needed to trust the Lord and take a step of faith.

Acts 9:17-19a – Saul was invited into the light.Saul was in deep darkness with no way out. Saul was shown undeserved love and mercy. Saul would never be the same. Praise God!
