Commitment

November 2, 2025

Acts 4:32-5:16
Principle: In our reading of Acts, we will encounter two different perspectives on commitment to God and to the people of God.
Acts 4:32-37 – Three markers of commitment1. One in heart and mind2. Shared everything3. They sacrificed for the kingdom of God
Acts 5:1-11This one-time event illustrated the dangers of false commitment.

Acts 5:12-16 Here we see why false commitment needs to be confronted by those willing to be used by God as he does his will through the church.

Romans 6:23 NIV“23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Ephesians 5:8-14 We must hear the call of God to see the true wages of our sin so that we willingly seek the help of the Holy Spirit as we turn away from that which brings pain into our lives and into the lives of those we love.
