June 29, 2025

Proverbs 27:17 NLT – “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”

Three elements of God honoring friendships:

Trust– Proverbs 11:13, 17:9, and 20:19

– If we want friends that we can trust, then we must seek to be the kind of friends that others can trust.

Generosity– Romans 15:1-2, Colossians 3:12-14

– Those within the church need to learn how to “bear with” one another.

Reciprocity– Luke 6:31

– The Golden Rule of relationship building leads us to answer the question of, “What is it we are looking for in a God-honoring friend?”

– Once we have the answer, we need to ask the Lord to help us be that kind of friend first.
