God’s Faithfulness in the Midst of Hard Times

Lamentations 3:21-25

Do you ever feel sad? Have you experienced setbacks? Sometimes does it feel like you are walking uphill and into a north wind?

Hard times are real. Not everything will go your way. Struggle, problems, pain, are all part of life.

The five chapters that comprise the book of Lamentations describe the sadness of the prophet Jeremiah as he looked on the destruction and desolation of a once prosperous city.

Sidlow Baxter has stated that Lamentations is “…a cloudburst of grief, a river of tears, a sea of sobs.”

In the midst of brokenness, Jeremiah shares a glimmer of hope as he remembers God’s faithfulness.

Note the following:

God’s love never diminishes. – (Lamentations 3:22)

God’s compassion never fails. – (Lamentations 3:22-23)

God’s faithfulness never ceases. – (Lamentations 3:23)

God’s hope still exist. – (Lamentations 3:25)
