1 Peter 5

Introduction

The book of 1 Peter was written to give hope to Christians who were suffering for following Christ. This relatively short book of 5 chapters and 105 verses is relevant for those that follow Christ in the 21st century.

The closing chapter of the book addresses three audiences. A helpful and directive message is given to elders, young Christians, and to the Christian community at large.

Note the following:

Counsel for Elders – (1 Peter 5:1-4)

Counsel for young Christians – (1 Peter 5:5a)

Counsel to the entire Christian community – (1 Peter 5:5b-11)
